There's no "we got him" from GOP, the "we" is the Dem DOJ. Joe Biden's DOJ is prosecuting Hunter Biden -- but only after getting caught trying to do a sweetheart deal not available to others. The GOP is not in position to charge Hunter. Only the Dems are. They own this 100%. They could say, hey, this law is unconstitutional and we won't enforce it. If they don't believe it is unconstitutional how could they not enforce it? Hunter is being subjected to a law that liberals believe in. Most gun rights conservatives would love for the DOJ to stop enforcing this unconstitutional law for everyone, not just for Biden crime family members.
Republicans are giving these gun charge indictments the side eye. What about the FARA allegations? The tax evasion charges? Is the DOJ going to keep the public occupied with constitutionally questionable gun charges while the statute of limitations runs out on the more serious corruption cases?
That said, it will be interesting to see how the weapons case plays out.
Will the law Hunter is charged on be thrown out by the SCOTUS? Would be ironic if it was a Biden DOJ that ended up loosening laws on gun ownership.
