When the photos of stunning Sicily appeared on YoursToAdore this week, I phoned Amber and nailed a time for a midday worship service. It was not just Sicily's pics which got my attention. It was her name, too - Sicily, a no nonsense name, promising a trip to a warm, story-laden place.

I phoned Amber as I pulled into the hotel. Sicily was just checking in, which meant I was her first visitor. Within minutes, Amber called back with a room number. I went through the lobby and started up the stairs to the second floor.

In the stairwell, a beautiful lady in blue jeans was descending. Reminders of Marcel Duchamp's 'Nude Descending a Staircase'? Only she was not nude; I only imagined her that way.

She looked familiar. She gave me friendly glances. I should have smiled back, but I looked straight ahead (I'm a software engineer, not a smooth flirter) and reached the second floor entrance. The door was key card access only. Back down the stairs I came and across to the elevator whose door was just closing. Missed it. Waited. I finally got to Floor 2 and knocked on Sicily's door. After a few seconds, she welcomed me in with a warm hug and melting kiss.

Sicily was the young lady I had seen on the stairs!

With the quick phone call and honorarium behind us, Sicily poured us glasses of just-opened San Pellegrino and asked with a teasing smile Why didn't you say hello to me on the stairs? Boy did this spark up lively conversation!

Sicily told me, that as she came down the stairs she sensed I was her visitor. She had cast glances at me, trying to tease me into saying hello or smiling. Her key card had not opened the Floor 2 door.

And it was Sicily who had been in the elevator I missed as its doors closed. In that short time, Sicily had returned to her room and changed into a lacy black Teddy.
