Review: Annabelle Apples

Call it pure luck. I had wanted to see Annabelle, but her agency recently had gone off the radar. Unrelated to that, I called Sonny to see who was in at Visiting Girlfriends. Before I could finish my question, Sonny interrupted to say he had a big catch...' we interrupt this program to bring you breaking news ' he said with a happy laugh. It was big news. Annabelle had just started with VGF that very day and she had a late afternoon opening.

I jumped at the opportunity, then scrambled to get ready and to pick up the gift. Soon I was racing up Route 495 (thank God it was not Rt 128 at that time of day). There was the daily accident - multiple cops, ambulance, tow truck and fire engine - but it was in the other direction. Luck was with me again. Traffic going my way was only slightly slowed down by gawkers.

I pulled into the lot, phoned Sonny, and got the green light to go up to Annabelle. When I knocked on her door, the door opposite opened, and out stepped a nice gentleman. We exchanged smiles and hotel corridor salutations, and he continued on his way to the elevator. Then Annabelle's door opened and we were in each other's arms, laughing. She had observed the whole comic sequence through the peephole. Rather than being put off balance by it (as some ladies might be) Annabelle turned it into a jolly amusement.

When we finally stopped laughing at the opening doors scenario, and then hugging and kissing, Annabelle phoned in while I slipped the gift onto a random, visible flat hotel room furniture surface (why do we bore one another in our TER reviews with the phone call and gift trivia?).
