I've noticed an ongoing uptrend in the number of SBs I see in my area, which is cheering.  But I was wondering how many of them are actually available and of interest?  If I search my geographic area with no other filters I get 3425. Not exactly Siberia, but no comparison to you guys in big cities.  Then I add in my normal filters for age and body type and the number drops to 1618. That's the number I'm actually searching through.  But I also think that so many of these are inactive.  I decided on an arbitrary limit of active within the past 2 weeks, and the number drops to just 394!  That's a mere 11.5% of the total.  Pretty small pool of fish.  What's it like in your world?

I'm from a big city (PHX) and with all my filters, I usually get 3400.  But being alot more pessimistic than you my friend, I typically never search past 2 days.  Typically this limits me to maybe 150. I've noticed that rarely the girls whom I have some genuine interest in are rarely active much more than this, short of those just dabbling to see what's out there.

My problem is that over the past couple of months there has been an avalanche of online and platonic college girls, probably due to social media postings.  The true quality has totally plummeted to where if I can cull more than 6-10 it's a miracle.  otoh - my response rate seems to be much higher than the past.

The absolute "head count" (pun intended of SB's in whatever you define as your "market" will always vary greatly. Perhaps it's influenced by seasonal or cyclic trends, like school starting/ending, holiday season, or even more frequently by things like monthly rent coming due.  It's been a recurring topic here as long as I can remember. In fact, I and others (including you) have gone so far as to post detailed stats (proving that if an SD is not balls deep in sweet SB pussy, he really has no other life whatsoever!) on the numbers and percentages by various demographics.  

 
But I want to evolve the discussion, please.  The absolute number of SB's, no matter how you filter or qualify them, is only as important as the ratio of SB's to SD's.  So the number of SB's is only the numerator. To really understand if your personal hunting ground is fertile (pun intended again you need to understand the denominator as well - the number of SD's who qualify as legitimate competition to you.  

 
So yes, the number may be going up or down. So what? I think a better question is:  What is the ratio of SB's to SD's in your market?   The higher the average number of SB's there are for each SD the better your opportunity is to get BCD with a new SB.  

 
So, how to get the SD data?  I have a created a fake SB profile that I use for research like this. BUT, since I have not paid for SA membership (and I won't so I can stay UTR with Admin) my use of filters is very limited.  

 
In my area, I can search for men within 10 miles, over 40, non-smokers and get 261 profiles.  123 have been active in the last week.    Compare that to my August, 2020 data showing the number of SB's within 10 miles, 18-38 years, non-smokers is 2,559.  

 
So 2,559 / 123 = 20.8 SB's per viable SD.  

 
Papa, I encourage you to try this for your area (or PM me your city and I'll do it for you) and get the ratio.  

 
If the 20.8 t o1 ratio holds in your area don't you think you can find 1, 2 or even 5 or 6 SB's from that pack of 20?

I have had some Very Good Times visiting the Phx area so I often browse the profiles there just for fun.  The cuteness of the SBs there seems to be noticeably higher than other places.  I've often thought that if I was going to relocate, based solely on the Sugar scene, Phx would be my top choice.

The avalanche of online only, platonic only, is widespread.  I see it here also. Plus more scammers on SA .  It just means we have to be more careful, selective and vigilant.  But that's part of what makes this fun, right?

Of course you're right, as usual. (That's a very annoying habit of yours Herb, cut that out! Haha)  The ratio of SD/SB is way more significant than the absolute number of either one.  I was just thinking about the SBs, and believe me, I ain't bitchin.  I continue to have more prime pussy than I can handle, so no complaints. I really wish this fucking pandemic was over so I could return to my slutty ways and re-create my formerly overlarge rotation.  Right now I'm really limiting my "social bubble".  But I will indeed run the search for SDs that you describe and post my results here soon.  

However, in the bigger cities, one metric not often considered is the hot girls are typically deluged with messages.  For example a smokin' hot chick who, for whatever reason, decided to message me back a few days ago said that typically whenever she opens a new profile (btw, something she does every couple of months) she gets 100+ messages the first day and then 50+ each day in the following days.  After her box becomes stuffed with messages (as vs. with dick  lol)  she becomes disoriented and does what she can to remember who said what and often just closes it out and moves along.  

Honestly, for the rare times I might get 10 messages a day from a number of girls, I find myself fumbling on making coherent responses - so I can appreciate their dilemma.

I think a larger portion of the wannabe SB's have a fantasy view of the lifestyle, aka Pretty Woman where a rich Richard Gere is going to come and lavish them with the luxury lifestyle.  I think those dreams are soon dashed.  I think most SB's never make the leap to become actually SB's.  So the ratio of SB's to SD's is a bit misleading.  

It's misleading in absolute terms, but interesting nonetheless for comparative purposes. We'll never really know how many of those who post SB profiles on SA are serious and realistic about what they are getting into.  I'm just really grateful to find out that a number of them do seem to appreciate exactly what I'm offering.  

But first , I reviewed what Herb said and realize I am confused. You said the number of SBs in your geographic area (10 miles) 18-38, is 2559.  But you didn't say of that was for all of them or only those active within a week or two.  Also you didn't say if they were filtered for body type.  So I'm not sure how my numbers will compare.

Anyway, searching for men in my area (my town plus 100 miles), over 40, I find 580. But 56% of those have no pictures posted. Only 211 had pictures, and of those, only 104 were active in the past week. My SB search gave 1618, close enough, correct age and body type. That would suggest 15.5 to 1 ratio of SBs to SDs.  But if I further refine my SB search to only those active in the past 2 weeks, the number drops to a mere 394, giving a ratio of just 3.8 to 1.

Stepping back from these numbers my opinion is that all the other SDs in my area are not significant competition!  There's no one quite like me and the SBs who want what I have to offer recognize that fact and tell me I'm unique.  So my job is still the same, regardless of the numbers:  promote myself well and find the ones who respond enthusiastically.  Seems to work well for me, regardless of what the ratios may suggest.

I'm not on SA so I can't find the answer to this on my own. Can you SA guys chime in?

Can SBs do the same search but in reverse? "How many potential SDs are in my geographic area?" It might come in handy for POT SBs to do an analysis and consider: "There are 100 POT SDs centered 10 miles around my city, City-A. If I expand the search to +100 miles, there are still only 250 SDs. I can easily drive to City-B (and I have a friend I can crash with if I'm too tired to drive home). City-B has 400 POT SDs within 10 miles and 1000 POT SDs within 100 miles. ... Maybe I should change my main city to City-B?"

To be thorough, she would also have to know the number of SBs that are listing in each area in order to get the all important SB/SD ratio. If SDs can only search SBs and SBs can only search SDs, maybe you can find an SB and form a research collaboration. You can submit the results right here for peer review and publication.  

Herb gets his SD data by posting a fake SB profile and using it to search the guys.  I get my SD data by using my awesome wife's SA profile, logging on from her computer and looking at the guys.  SBs can indeed search from any given search point, any selected radius from there just as we SDs can.  And it does reveal interesting results!  There are several target rich environments I've located that way.  If I ever move from here, I'll pick a spot with tons of cute SBs.

Small caveat to Papa Sweet's answer, please.  

If the SB has not paid for a premium account (using only a free account),  they get the same search screen as SD and paid SB's get, BUT several filters are locked and can't be used. In my free SB profile I can't use:

So my SD searches are only filtered for:
Distance - 10 miles
Men (not women)

I then scan the list of results (viewing 100 a a time) to manually count the number actives in a desired time frame like 1 week.  

But don't get too caught up in how  I  search. What matters for this local market analysis is that you use the same filters and criteria for your area each time you pull the data. That will give you the baseline needed to compare period to period.  The same holds if you want to compare one local market to another, say Orlando to Taos.  

What's a favorable ratio? of SB's to SD's?  Well obviously the more SB's per per SD the better. My rough math shows about 20 SB's for every 1 SD. Papa Sweet's data shows about 4 SB's to every 1 SD.  Is his better than mine?  Doesn't matter unless Papa is planning a trip to LA so he can pull some Palm-Tree Pussy!  No worries, Papa, we can slice this pie

...with the magnitude of profiles, but with whether there are new faces.  Before paying up, I'll browse and make note of new faces, and also how many I recognize as perpetually on there.  I look for age 35+, so there are usually only several pages of recently active babies that fall within my search parameters.  

I could care less about the number of SB' s in my area (there are a lot) or the SB/SD ratio.  The only thing important to me is quality.  How many SB's with a face and body in the 8.5-10 range are available.  There might be several thousand SB's in my area but if there are only five that are really hot (in my subjective view) then for me it is a highly competitive market since there might be 50 SD's chasing after 5 SB's.  It all comes down to your standards and what you feel is quality.  Absolute number and ratios are somewhat meaningless.

When you live in a small city of only around 100,000 with the nearest city of any size being a two hour drive away, the total number starts looking VERY important, especially when the number of POT SBs within 25 miles of me who have been active within the last couple of weeks is only a couple of dozen, with the only filters applied are "slim and athletic" bodies.

I agree completely.  My city also has only around 100K population, so on those very rare occasions when I find a great SB right here in town it's truly cause for celebration.  The nearest big city is just one hour away, so I do most of my dating there. I've come to think of the hour long commute each way as just part of the "price" of sugar dating.  The very idea of having thousands to chose from just a few miles from home makes my heads spin.  Both of them!

There were literally hundreds of hookers with incalls within a mile of two of where I lived, it was a rare day when I didn't visit at least one of them. I think there were a lot more days when I would see two different girls on the same day than there were days when I wouldn't see any.
