I had a weird one today.  Trying to reply to a DM on Seeking from a former super sweet SB of mine who had been mia for 4 months.  She sent me a very kind message apologizing for the absence, explaining that a former relationship of hers had returned and she was trying to figure out how she felt about it.  So she returned to seeking hoping I was still there and delighted to find me.  And asked if I still wanted to see her.  Hell yes!  But when I hit the send button on my reply to her, I got the auto message saying I had violated their terms of use and that they did not allow anything related to compensated dating.  Here's the text of my message.  I sure can't imagine what triggered their algorithm, can you?

I'm so glad to hear from you! I totally understand the old relationship thing and taking the time you need to figure things out. I totally, 1000% still want to meet! My number is the same: xxx-xxx-xxxx. Text me and we'll figure out a good time, but I'm thinking next week on Tuesday would be great. xoxo

I don't know (as I'm not an Admin on Seeking), but I'd guess some message scanning bot came across "1000%" and tagged it as representing a monetary offer.

Sorry that happened to you.

I can see the Seeking Admins worrying about someone using symbols other than a dollar sign next to numbers to "cover" an allowance offer.  The phone number seems less likely to be a problem.

But "Hey let's 1000% meet" could be construed as "Let's meet for $1000."

It's like when hookers on Tinder used to ask for roses for dates.  EX:  "Give me 300 roses and I'm yours for a great meal."

Life is good

The 1000% might well have been seen as code for $1000.  One part of the censorship auto message allowed me to click a box that said:  my post did not violate your terms.  So I clicked it and got another auto message saying they would review it.  But I doubt they will or have reviewed it.  If they did they'd see that what I wrote was a direct reply to something she said to me. And I have not received any response from them.

But at the time, I simply rewrote the message without the 1000% in it, and it was delivered no problem.  Happy to report she replied and says she has missed me, can't wait to see me again, and we're gonna do that on Tuesday next week.  So, a happy outcome.
