I think you are reaching with the statement that "14 year olds are not children." I would beg to differ, and suggest that you don't know. For some 14 is mature based on life experiences, and for some...they are still children. I would not want some 30 year old fkin my 14 year old daughter no more than I would want a 30 year old woman fkin my teenage son.

The first point is a linguistic one, and therein lies the problem. 5 year olds are children in every way. 14 year olds are not. And while some might challenge the next statement, 18 year olds, like 14 year olds have not developed past every aspect of childhood as a 30 year old has.
