Maybe you're too young to remember a time before the internet existed, but I was seeing providers back then, and I can assure you many other guys on this board were too. It was just as active of a hobby scene, the only difference is we didn't have discussion boards like this for ridiculous questions to be asked/answered.
The ladies ran print ads in the classified section of newspapers, tabloids or magazines- most of which have now been replaced by the internet. And since it's called the world's oldest profession for a reason, I'm sure the women of centuries past got the word out just fine before there were newspapers too.
In fact, they've unearthed sections of Pompeii that were covered by the volcanic eruption 2,000 years ago and found street markers indicating where houses of prostitution were located.
Thank you.. well said

And before there were newspapers to put ads in, there were bath houses/AMPs. And someone had mentioned below that the newspapers would only apply to big cities...not true, we've had a local paper that's ran an "adult services" section for close to 20 years, and compared to big cities, Madison, WI is not that big at all..a college town. And we've had multiple "bath houses" for close to 35+ years, 2 of which are still open to this day.
I didn't start on the internet(even though it was available when I started in 05), started at a bath house for 8 months then went independent and had an ad in the local paper, then discovered the internet, and at that time, there were maybe a total of 5 other girls in the city online, compared to over 100 now, lol.
Oh, and before I started this, I went to college, twice.. so the ? about what would we do in the real world... many of us have, many DO have other professions besides this, YOU just aren't aware of that fact, and others, like myself, discovered a long time ago, that doing this, versus working 2 jobs, made much more sense financially. Marrying a rich man to "take care of us".... lmao.. have had that opportunity more times than I can count, I will NEVER get married again, and especially not for money... sorry, the times have changed, and women no longer need to seek out a financially stable husband to "survive".
