Yes, and its why I hate most forums, and don't spend any time on them. Most people eat at fast food restaurants compared to 5 star restaurants too. Should all the 5 star resaurants out there have their servers start saying "yew want fries wit dat?" just because that is what everyone else does?
Ok... to each their own. I disagree. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. I understand your argument, but just b/c everyone else does it, doesn't necessarily always mean that it's bad. Sometimes, it's a GOOD thing.

The only thing that bumping a post to the top after a reply does is turn train wrecks (which we are very good at creating) into cataclysmic train wrecks. Meanwhile, any dumb SOB unfortunate enough to try to create a new post while a few train wrecks are in progress gets shuffled halfway down the page 5 seconds after his post is written.
Again.... you seem to perpetuate this (as well as others) already. How would making the topic move to the top make that much of a difference? Sorry, I'd rather have one thread of a debate rather than 10.

Pecking through multiple pages to continue a discussion? Give me a break. This board isn't quite that active. It usually takes a good 3-4 days for most posts to get bumped off the first page, usually long after any meaningful discussion has long since concluded on its own.
That's not my experience. I don't come here every 5 minutes, so for me jumping around trying to keep up w/ board debate/conversation in the old way was HUGELY annoying. Sorry, again I highly disagree.
I'd rather have all of the most commented topics at the top. Why? Because it makes sense, because this is where most people are talking, and hence this prevents duplicate threads from appearing. Again, agree to disagree.

*MOST* discussion boards suck wind through a straw, precisely because they employ the same format that TER just adopted. This is one of the only forums I participate on anymore precisely because it DOESN'T follow that format.
I disagree... perhaps you should venture out more beyond TER?
Sounds like you have a grudge and not willing to change more than anything.
