The other big difference is most of the top independent providers I know stick mainly to cash transactions, which leaves no paper trail. Agencies accept credit cards and tend to have more files on clients. I could be wrong but this is my perception.
The Agency would like it. Independence means working dman hard carrying all the overhead, along with the hassles that go along with managing a small business.
