I don't shave anything down there. I do keep it trimmed. I do shower daily and am always extra clean when I visit a provider. I have never been turned down when I request they be licked and sucked. I know many providers have stated as you did "If you want them licked and sucked, yes." when asked about shaving the balls, etc. But as with everything else in the hobby different strokes for different folks.
