 It doesn't "know" to go to your dick. It increases the blood flow throughout your body. It's the blood flow that causes an erection. The increased blood flow makes most guy's faces feel hot, as the blood vessels in the face are closer to the outside of the skin than in any other part of the body.  
   
 The blood flow to the penis is increased along with the rest of the body, but the guy still has to be aroused sexually for there to be a hard-on. If you take it and then watch CNN, nothing will likely happen, unless you get off on CNN.

Or the barrage of follow up media about how the original Observer and HuffPo pieces took data completely out of context to make spurious conclusions.  At the bottom of it, they were using fertility data to make their point, along with some cherry picked survey findings which they took out of context.  When you look at the comparative age specific fertility data (UNPD - available on their website), you see that Japan is only slightly below the US, and in line with Germany, Greece, Poland, Russia and Italy - all of which are countries that are quite well know for prolific sex.  Then if you look at their survey data, you find that similar surveys in the US have shown similar data about number of unmarried people in committee relationships etc.
