Or the barrage of follow up media about how the original Observer and HuffPo pieces took data completely out of context to make spurious conclusions.  At the bottom of it, they were using fertility data to make their point, along with some cherry picked survey findings which they took out of context.  When you look at the comparative age specific fertility data (UNPD - available on their website), you see that Japan is only slightly below the US, and in line with Germany, Greece, Poland, Russia and Italy - all of which are countries that are quite well know for prolific sex.  Then if you look at their survey data, you find that similar surveys in the US have shown similar data about number of unmarried people in committee relationships etc.

So as an alternative, you could look at the video by Vice "sex sells and the Japanese are buying"
