I'm glad you asked this question.
It's not about the MONEY!!! I know the Hobbyists have a hard time understanding that, but, FOR MANY, it's not about the money! True, we wouldn't do it for free, but do you go to the office for free? Ok, so there's the comparison and that's about it. It's simply BETTER money, and more fun! Many of us ladies are professional women, have careers, and play the Corporate America BS games, and also hate it!(see my earlier posts on how I feel about that) Being a Provider is so much more for me than I can possibly list in a posting, but here's a few: thrilling, exciting, empowering, stimulating, enlightening, challenging, pleasurable, sensual, carefree, FUN..just to name a FEW. If I didn't do this, I'd miss it. I didn't begin this because I 'needed the money'. I do it because I love it! I do it because I always, always dreamed I would. As Mara put it, and I concur - we don't date. This is dating for us. I like the variety, I love the company, and the intimacy is wonderful. And it gives me my space. They go home.
I can't really relate to the question because, $2500-$3000 is nothing. (especially in SD, when my mortgage is almost $2k) You make that working. In this business, there are plenty of ladies who make closer to $20k a month..I'm not one of them, only because you would have to 'crank them out' like cattle to get that, and that defeats the whole enjoyment and reason for me in doing this.
As fun as I'm sure it probably can be to be somebody's 'kept woman', I couldn't do it. I'm too independant to be that. I have to earn my own way, do my own thing, and I can't 'belong' to anybody. I enjoy 'sharing' times with someone, and having them 'share' times with me, but I have to be my own person.
You mention someone showing you how to make a nice living - I'm all for 'teaching a man to fish' and that would suit me fine, and he could have lots of attention in exchange - that would work well for me! You also mention that one is young, and the other 'older' and that wouldn't really matter. The man matters. I have a young 'bf' now ( 2 and 1/2 years) and many 'older' clients. Love them all.
Lots of love,
Sedona
