So I went to a KFC on Wednesday to get dinner for myself, I order at the drive thru and she says that'll be $8.89 at the window. So I pull up and she says that'll be $8.00 with your 10% discount, I just turned 50 this past October. So either she is clairvoyant or I look older than my age. Oh well, you gotta love AARP discounts even if you don't have to show your card. By the way, I realize the math is wrong, but my receipt said $8.00. Sorry, just had to share

Wow, you're right the math is correct, old age is screwing with my basic mathematics. And I'm a Scientist, oh my. Oh well, I'd never trade youth for wisdom. I'm happier at 50 than I ever was at 25 and I'm having sex (better sex too) with hotter women than I ever have. It's a wonderful life, the hobby.

Many on the top 100 list in their 50s or close to it. Wonder if they will pass along their AARP Senior Citizens savings discounts on to their clients or  finally list their true ages or at least claim they are in the over 45 group. Maybe TER will offer them a 10 percent discount.

I swear, I just got carded last weekend when I bought some whiskey. Now back in the days when they carded up through say age 26, it never happened but now they're carding through age 40. Do I look 40? I don't think so why the hell am I getting carded?  What a compliment :-)

Don't feel bad Russ, it's really bad when a hot young 20-something calls you "sir".

The first time someone your age called me sir, I almost fell over. It was in my early 30's and my 20-something friend who was with me was laughing her ass off about me being old. The "old' jokes rolled on for years until her 30th b-day party when I got her back big time. Payback's a bitch...

I had a friend who was out to lunch with her daughter and grandchildren in the Atlanta area. She ordered a glass of wine with lunch and was refused service because she didn't have her ID with her. Ironically, her 30 year old daughter was served because she did have ID with her.

Until then I always considered it a compliment whenever I got carded, now it's just a pain in the ass.

and whats' worse than being called sir is flirting with a twenty something, thinking you are getting somewhere, and then have her say something along the lines of "you are so adorable, you are just like my father" Instant deflation. lol

and as far as getting carded at grocery stores, that's happened to me in a number of Vegas grocery  and drug stores. I think it's managements instructions, "CARD EVERYONE" no exceptions.

Finally to the OP, whenever you use your AARP cards for hotel discounts, tell them your over 60, you get a better discount than the youngin's get who are in their 50s.

If a young twenty-something calls you “adorable,” and you are seventeen or under, she means you remind her of her kid brother, 30 to 40 – her uncle, 41 to 55 – her father, 56 to 65 – her grandfather, over 65 – she assumes the only reason you still walk the earth is because you are a vampire.

As a girl with a healthy and not at all daddy-issue-related love of older men, I call a lot of men sir, if I want them to fuck me. I like the exchange of power.

At least it turns ME on.

What does it mean if a hot twenty-something calls another twenty something adorable?

I can answer that question - it means he'll make a great platonic friend. Lucky dude, just what 20-something guys want, hot female platonic friends, lol.

Now of course things are quite different because of the company I keep :-
