Fascinating thread.  What's missing is comments about the natural decline of sex attraction in even loving monogamous marriages or LTRs.  Most folks seem not to find enduring satisfaction in "swinging" or other short term hook ups.  What we're hopefully lurching towards is greater tolerance by both men and women of "dalliances" and related offenses.  But when women want to stray they usually don't go to male providers, so there is a huge difference between the sexes that rarely gets discussed.  But what should underlie any discussion is the inherent right of every adult to want intimacy and sexual warmth.  If older wives don't want it because of dormant hormones, they shouldn't militate against men whose hormones are still raging, even if less frequently.  These comments only touch lightly on the depths of the problem, I admit, but mutual tolerance and understanding are good places to start, however difficult to get to the starting line.
