Saturnsky's post below exposes the fallacious thinking of feminazis/radical feminists who hate the sex industry, particularly the escort industry.   It totally baffles me that the feminazi crowd says that providing is demeaning to women and allows men to take advantage of them.  These women don't know what the hell they're talking about!  As Saturnsky says, making men pay for sex insures that the woman won't be left high and dry.  In a way, I think it's the opposite for women.  I think the escort industry can actually empower women by making men pay for what they desire most.  A well intentioned woman friend of mine once said that she doesn't like the idea of paying for sex, because the provider is using me and I'm using her.  Well, duh!  You could say the same thing about marriage. LOL!  Or you could even say the same thing about any commercial transaction!  To survive in this world, don't we all take advantage of each other to some extent?!?!?!?!  We do this every day!  I guess I take advantage of 7-11 every morning when I stop there to buy coffee.  

Getting back to the feminazis/radical feminists, it's been my experience that they know NOTHING about this industry and how it works.  I don't think I've ever met an attractive woman who is a feminazi/radical feminist.  They've all been pretty butt-ugly.  I suspect that deep down, they're jealous of hot babes who know they're beautiful and use their appeal to make money through providing.  And of course, they hate men and probably can't stand the fact that through providers, sex is so easily available.  

How I would love to have the legal right to approach my hot co-worker about entering into a P4P relationship with no strings attached.  How would such a deal demean me or her?  She would have the right to turn it down.  And no, I'm not pursuing her romantically, and I won't dare approach her about a P4P relationship.  My job is already on shaky ground. LOL!

Anyway, my main point is that the escort industry is the total opposite of what the dumbass rad fems say it is. Thank you, Saturnsky, for making this clear in a better way than I ever could.

But too many of you guys don't want to know the real story...so just bash her for her opinions.

Why do you think saturnsky is a radical feminist?  Am I missing something here?  And I didn't hear her say anything about prostitution being demeaning.

I disagree with much of what she said, but on the other hand I can understand some of her frustration.  I certainly don't think the solution is to call her a feminazi.

The sad truth is that many people just find prostitution deeply offensive.  Maybe they shouldn't, but never mind that.  They do.  So we should try to be sensitive to that, if we can.

Anyway, there are my 2c.

I wrote what I wrote in order to say that I agree with Saturnsky's assessment of the hobby.  I believe she is the opposite of a rad fem, and that's a good thing, at least in my book.  To quote The Animals, "Don't misunderstand me, baby!"

Not once did I call her a radical feminist.  If I did, please show me where I did.  I talked about rad fems in general and said that Saturnsky does a good job exposing their fallacious thinking.  How people think I was calling Saturnsky a rad fem is beyond me, but I must have given that impression, so I apologize for that.  Again, I agree with Saturnsky, and the intent of my original post was to support what she said.

the ones i know are in favor of sex work because, as you say, it empowers the woman to use her body as she sees fit.  the feminists i know are very much in favor of making sex work safe and legal.

human trafficking and marital cheating are entirely different issues that are often conflated with sex work.  an independent sex worker is nothing more than a capitalist.  imo, no different than a baby surrogate or someone who rents themselves out to clean up your house or cook your meals.  people who charge for what traditionally has been the "woman's role" for the past few centuries, and why the hell shouldn't they?  

i know of no true feminists who think that a woman shouldn't be able to do with her own body what she wants to do.

The reality, contrary to your misguided assumption, is that not all women who identify as feminists---radical or otherwise (and good luck defining radical in this context), oppose sex work; far from the truth.

And not all women who oppose sex work are feminists---in fact, speaking generally, the majority of women who adamantly oppose the idea of sex work would never call themselves a feminist; and, in turn, would likely refer to any woman who does support sex work as a “feminazi”.

We are the pathetic ones plunking down hundreds of dollars for s girl to smooch our peepee. A sad lot are we.

I agree 100%. Sex is the only power women have over men. When we're able to get it anytime we want via providers, it takes away that power from the rest of the female gentry, hence the disdain of the "feminazis"

What world do you live in where alot of men "oppose sex work?"- Most men have no objection to fellow men indulging in our favorite hobby. Most men either support it. or don't care, but rarely "oppose it"--that's a woman thing.

Then how do we explain religious conservatives? Right wing republicans? The “family values” crowd? The radical pro-lifers? Are all of these people women? If they’re in support of sex work, they’re doing a damned good job of hiding it.

What about the Rush Limbaughs or the Elliot Spitzers? Or, any of the male political figures who stand-up and publicly beat their chests in opposition to prostitution? They’re hypocrites certainly. But, are they pro prostitution or opposed to it? I’m confused.

The OP said that ALL feminist oppose prostitution. Basically "feminazis" are the problem. You've gone even a step farther and said that ONLY WOMEN oppose prostitution. That: "men are not in opposition to prostitution whatsoever"

Neither of these statements is true.

Some "people" oppose prostitution; (regardless of whether they make any distinction between consensual and non-consensual sex work---or lump all sex work into the 'prostitution is sex trafficking/slavery category).  Some of those people are women and some of those people are men.

You can try to conveniently ignore the fact that there ARE MEN who oppose prostitution if you like. It still does not make it true. And, if the position is that the women who oppose prostitution are "feminazis", what makes those men any different?

As far anyone who publicly denounces prostitution, while secretly partaking in it: These people do not "support" prostitution. This is like saying that the asshats who publicly denounces homosexuality, while secretly getting their dicks sucked in public bathrooms SUPPORT LGBT rights.

That is not SUPPORT. Nor is it shutting the fuck-up and being neutral so, at least, they do less harm. Not only is this kind of position cowardly and hypocritical, in practice, in the real world where it matters, where it actually impacts real people this equates to public, vocal OPPOSITION.

He would never marry or date a hooker, nor would he want his own daughter to be one I bet.
