" my phone doesn't EXCEPT texts" so, being the nice guy I am I send her an email telling her she's using the wrong word , that it should be " accept" . I see the next day she corrects the mistake. No biggie, but shouldn't she have responded to my email saying something like " thanks for pointing that out to me"?

Forget the fact you are miffed by something so trivial that you had to make post about it.  Maybe you weren't in the first 20 people that e-mailed her about it and it would take her all day to reply to everyone that pointed out her grammatical error.

Expecting thanks for the most trivial things is kind of going a little overboard.  If someone takes time out to thank you for something small, then consider it a pleasant surprise.  Usually keeps me from being disappointed in my fellow man.

when I emailed a provider whose ad gave an interchange for her location.  There could only have been one place she could have been staying & didn't want to see her busted.  More to the point, the ad was corrected very quickly.

I saw her add (or perhaps someone else's who made the same error). But evidently she got her point across. I'm happy to say that I have more going on in my life, that I don't feel the need to email a provider to correct her on a grammatical error.

Well said. On occasion I have remarked on an error in a post, but never on grammar. If I choose to point out  an error that might be meaningful I send a private message. Each and every time I have been thanked.
