Usually High Profile patron are much easier to screen that those who are not.

I have a few very high profile clients.   Im sure there are many more that I dont know about.

I find it funny how some of them told me exactly who they are and what they do-- before we even met in person!

Others, I've known for years-- and they are still sticking to their story that they're just a poor, struggling businessman.  (Little do they know, some providers actually read Forbes and watch CNBC lol!)  

Also, I once met a dean of an ivy league university.  I was kind of shocked that he felt so comfortable telling me this during screening.  Why would a person in such a sensitive position feel so comfortable telling a provider who he is?  Especially when I didnt even ask?

Guys, be careful.  There are some less than reputable providers out there looking to sell a story and make a quick buck at the expense of your life, livelihood, and professional reputation.

I dont want to see any nice guys go down like Tiger Woods.

Quite frankly I fall in the category of being well known in my urban playground but I'm not going to contact somebody and provide my information unless I'm comfortable with the provider in the first place...

I appreciate how important discretion is for both sides, and we certainly need to be smart.  Thank you for being candid.  How can we hobbyists get providers comfortable w/ o verification?  I'm already whitelisted TER , and RS2K, which seems to help.

The Ivy League person you mention, guys like that spend a lot of time working, and going to college, and pretty much are married to their careers. Some may not have a very well rounded social life, so to them life may seem boring.

Providers open the gateway to an exciting undercover world. Seeing providers may be the only real social thing they do all week, so some naturally may just open, and start telling all their buisness.

Some high profile guys also see providers, because they don't wanna worry about getting a Civie or SO pregnant.

But if you got a high profile client, who's paying you well, keep your mouth shut, and dont ruin the gravy train.

I personally don't care whether a guy gives me his real name or not.  He can tell me his name is Dirty Sanchez for all I care.  As long as the name he gives matches the name his references know him by, its all good.

I dont ask for employment info at all!  I also "dont care" what he does for a living.  

Some guys just volunteer the info.

If you're the CEO of a fortune 500 company, dont go around telling random providers!  It is truly none of my business!  After we know eachother and you trust me, tell me if you like, or dont.  

The guys that Ive "found out" by seeing them on TV, I just chuckle and keep my mouth shut.  And I respect them for being discreet.

So, your TER info, references, P411, etc should be good enough for a provider.  If a lady needs your real name, DOB, employer, etc, I think thats just TMI to give.  She certainly wont share that kind of personal info with you!!

What do you propose to proceed? Is there a more discrete verification process?

I didnt intend to come across as bragging.  

I have even pulled guys to the side after we've met and told them, "Hey, just so you know, you may want to get a hobby email and not email providers from your work email."  or "Hey, take your last name off your P411 profile.  Its not required for you to have your full name on the site."

They seem to appreciate it and often make the changes right away.

As for myself, I don't really mind giving out personal information as most everyone I know already are aware of my hobbying proclivities, but HPs advice is spot on for others in more vulnerable situations.

and yes some guys, even married guys are quite lax about their personal information. I've lost track of how many guys have used their real names as handles right here on TER.

but my situation is probably one that only one in a hundred hobbyists are in. I am a CEO, but CEO of a private company, and in the oil business to boot. All of my friends know what I do, and most of my clients and employees, but I am an independent oil man, and people expect me to act this way. lol

That said, I like HP's attitude, I am a bit surprised though her provider sisters that insist on having those insipid little forms filled out aren't out here in force trying to bash her for having a little common sense.

I've shared my real name with many girls and hobbyists to boot. And I DID boot some. lol

There is a desire to make a connection and "be our real selves" in a situation where we need to relieve the stress of our daily lives. That can lead to careless pillow talk. Some guys need to impress with how important they are.

It can all come back to bite you if someone wants to make some money selling a story or giving up a "big fish" when they get arrested. This was a thoughtful and compassionate warning to all the hobbyists here.

You are saying high profile clients should not share too much personal info about themselves. Did it ever occur to you that many of these clients live public lives and regardless of what they do, much of their personal info is still publicly available anyway.

Tiger Woods by any other name is still Tiger Woods. What difference does it make if Tiger Woods shows at your door as John Smith. If you recognize your client, the only thing that stops you from bringing him down and humiliating him besides a seven figure check is your conscience.

That being said I still don't give away any info about myself. I won't share my real name, phone, city where I live or employment info with anyone. If my P411 account, TER handle or provider references are not sufficient, I happily move on. It helps that I am not publicly recognizable and makes that produce manger of a local grocery store profession of mine much more believable.

Surely, any girl would recognize Tiger Woods if he showed up to her incall.  But there are other guys that the average provider would not recognize.

Yes, I look at the business news channels but it was pretty much a fluke that one of my clients was being interviewed the moment I turned on the tv.   He didnt tell me who he really is.  I stumbled upon it.  He did the right thing by not sharing his real name or real job.  Most girls wouldn't ever find out.

There are ways to be open, yet discreet.  Ive had guys casually tell me they're a CEO.  They didnt say for which company.  I didnt ask.  And they gave me a name such as John Smith which I assume is an alias.  I think this is smart.  What am I going to do, google "John Smith CEO"?  

I just wanted to remind guys to be a little more careful.  Of course, be more open if you want after you know the girl but theres a time for that and its not during screening.

Yes, just tell me youre a grocery store manager named John Smith.

Your story about the dean reminds me of what a friend of mine did several years back.

He was looking for a high level engineering job and was quite well qualified so after sending out literally dozens of resumes and not hearing back for a single interview he was baffled and decided to contact the HR departments of a couple of the companies directly. The very first one he contacted remembered his resume immediately and told him the only problem was that they did not hire "ex cons". My buddy was baffled as he had a spotless record, until he remembered that his wife, who worked for the federal probation department had sent out his resume from her work fax, complete with "federal probation department" on the header. lol

PS: I have never shared my real full name with any provider.  I have discussed my job but never named the actual company.  I have never shared the name of the town I live in, just the general area.  I have never been pressed for this info because I have lots of OKs on my P411 and DateCheck accounts and an adequate number of white lists and reviews to satisfy most providers.  I've learned a great deal about staying safe on TER from guys (and  gals) more experienced than I am, but I suspect the CEOs of this world don't have the time or are arrogant enough not to care.

It's clear that she is warning high profile guys not to reveal too much about themselves during their initital screening when they are trying see a provider.  I would hope these high profile guys are choosing well reviewed ladies to begin with.  That would help avoid any drama in the first place.

Or if you dont want to sign up on a verification site, just give out references or your TER handle during screening.  I cant imagine any girl that would say, "Nope!  I dont want references!  I need your full name as it appears on your DL, your employer, your position, and your DOB."

Always think of the worst case scenario...

"What would happen if this provider was a crazy bitch and decided to ________."  (Tell my wife, come up to my job, come to my hourse, try to blackmail or extort money from me, etc).

Make sure you protect your real life info so that if she "snaps", she cant do anything to you.  If youre a public figure, you've just got to be extra, extra careful.

I know for a fact that he's not stupid so the only thing thats left is extremely arrogant.  He was a lawyer among his many other titles.  In my experience, lawyers tend to be very arrogant and feel that they are untouchable.

You told us he is Dean of an IVY league school, now you tell us he was a lawyer . There aren't many IVY league schools  unless you think  your Alma mater Mitchell college is ivy league. How many clues you going to squeal until he is outed ?  How many innocent Deans will now be suspect ?  You could have easily  made a discretion warning post without being a blabber mouth.
