Since the context was different, it took me a while to recognize her. I couldn’t tell if she recognized me, nor was I about to ask. This was, after all, an unplanned gathering in a public place that had simply chanced to form itself.

I’d seen her once about a year earlier. The encounter disappointed, and I wrote a blunt, though certainly not cruel, review. Now face-to-face in a non-contrived situation, with no expectations from having paid a fee, I found her real and likable.

Over small talk, she alluded to a handful of problems she was dealing with. It was a poignant reminder that providers are real people with real lives, real issues. I now keep that in mind when I review.

Not a reason to falsify a review, of course, but certainly a reason to express our thoughts as kindly as we can.

Who gives a fuck? You paid for the session and were entitled to  great service. If she had personal problems she should have cancelled the session rather than take your money knowing she was not at the top of her game.

You saw a provider had a lousy time, complained about it, saw the provider in public, felt guilty, and then you sit there and listen to her bitch about her past.

My Client: "Are you okay?"

Me: Yes

My Client: "Like, how's life?"

*Thinks for a second*

Me: I'm fine

I wonder if Yelp reviewers check with their waiters to see if they had something going on in their personal lives that explained/excused the lousy service they received?

To the OP, did she offer to make it up to you? If so, that's a story I'd like to hear. If not, I really don't give a fuck.

She has wisened up and realized her old way only garnered bad reviews and as a consequence lousy business.

So now she decides to make amend and try to revive damaged businesses.

Provider: Cum baby.

Provider: Are you almost done.

Provider: You have to leave soon.

Me: I have ten minutes left.

Provider: You better not give me a bad review.

*did she really just say that*

She is a nice person, but I doubt she recognized me. This was a spontaneously-formed group. A small, positive incident had drawn together a handful of passersby, and small talk ensued among a number of us. It was months before I placed her. If she managed to place me, which I doubt since we’d had only one, forgettable session over a year earlier (and I had waited a few weeks before writing the review), she certainly gave no clue. And it goes without saying that I gave no clue, since I didn’t recognize her at the time.
