I'm leaving the TER boards as a poster.   I concede, it seems more people want me to leave than want me to stay.   That was never my intention of course to annoy people....I thought posting interesting or thought provoking stuff would be fun.....but these things take on a life of their own, and the "spirit" or mob mentality can influence and distort things tremendously.

where you blew it . . . . . not on the long posts, not on the stupid posts, and not on the posts with misinformation.  You lost most everyone when you said you would never, ever write a review. This is a review site.  With that one statement, you transformed yourself from a potential brother to a lurker, and most lurkers are regarded as trolls on a board like this.  It's like a guy who can't boil water posting on a gourmet chef's board.  Good luck to you, anyway, wherever you land.

so it was appropriate IMO for him to not post reviews.  I don't think he wanted to review anyway, but no one can dispute his wealth of knowledge about the biz or how many providers he had seen.  Like Nicky, he was not shy about naming some of the famous providers he had seen, some of whom posted here in the past and were their pals on the outside.   Most of the anecdotal information he posted here reflected the same kinds of experiences I was having in P4P, so there is no doubt in MY mind that he was both an exception to the GENERAL rules about those with no reviews.  He was a credit to his whoremongering self in several respects.   Lol  

While I prefer those who write reviews and help, not doing this alone, for me, doesn't disqualify one from contributing to the boards. If I feel someone is contributing well to the boards and is reasonable, I can live with it. But I didn't feel this way about Gus. I do not think he is a bad guy. But there is some disconect. The long posts was one thing. Then the stubborn arguing when things were pointed out. But the icing for me was a feeling of disconnect. I felt Gus had a different way of seeing things and didn't really connect with others who see things differently. In some ways I felt bad for him because I think his intentions were good and he was trying in his way. But sometimes it just doesn't work.

I enjoyed your posts even though I did agree with all your view points like "sex with women is like masturbation" , I ended up with big forearms as a result. That is why I am in the hobby now, sex with a woman is much better.

Studies have concluded that it's not psychologically healthy to spend a lot of time on social media. Spend time outdoors. Meditate. Watch some movies. [I recommend the "Game of Thrones" series.] Listen to music. Find a hobby. Engage in whatever physical activity you are able. Have enjoyable in-person conversations. Read a book.  

But let me start by saying in general it's better not to announce your departure. Just leave and don't be dramatic. More to the point: I don't know why you've let people get under your skin to the point where you feel you've got to leave. I, too, think your posts were over-long but that's not a big deal. I agreed with some things you wrote and disagreed with others. No big wup.
But this board, as you found out, is a combative place. I always called it The Monkey House, where the inhabitants fling their poo at each other. In fact, it used to be MUCH worse. Many have been so intimidated by it that they never posted at all. In your case, you have let the haters drive you off and that's unfortunate.
Perhaps you should just take a break and come back with a different handle, using what you've learned.

In fact, TER rules specifically forbade GaG and other mods to review. But you are correct that he wouldn't have done so anyway. The main thing is he was among the most experienced whoremongers I've ever known and he was generous in sharing his information.
He was the one who showed me the ropes in Costa Rica and introduced me to the deservedly decadent (and now extinct) Hotel Del Rey, as well as the still-operating Cocal in Jaco Beach. The first day we were there a female bartender had to pull a knife on an unruly bar girl.

Sorry if you’re leaving due to health reasons! While I prefer to read posts related to one’s experience with providers or their sessions, the occasional comment from a lurker doesn’t bother me. It was your long boring missives that annoyed me the most! You even introduced a few topics that got the peanut gallery involved! If you would just limit your comments to one or two paragraphs laser focused on the topic, I might actually read your comment instead of scrolling to one that interests me more! If you’re leaving due to peer pressure,  don’t let this rag-tag band of erudites drive you into TER obscurity!

I agree Zeel. In the beginning a few very experienced guys, myself included, tried to give Gus some pointers about how to fit in and contribute to the board. His responses were aggressive and condescending, especially when he refused to identify the provider who had ripped him off. It was like he didn’t care about the other gents here and didn’t care if she ripped us off. After that cdl, myself, and others went after him pretty hard because of his responses. It got to the point a few weeks ago where I stopped reading and responding to his posts. It would have been nice if he would have responded differently and maybe he would have been better received by the guys here. In the end we’re just a bunch of mongers exchanging information and trying to enhance one another’s hobby experiences while also keeping one another safe. Oh well.

If you can find a way to get to the point, that would certainly be appreciated.  I've bailed on many/most of your contributions.  But, I personally, appreciate well written, non-combative observations.

Don’t let anyone run you off this board. You are different Gus and thank God for that. It’s the mix of people that make this place fun and unique. I don’t cuss too often but I have to now. Fuck them. Gus has been very open about his physical challenges and experiences in the hobby and I hope that he will follow the boards and that he WILL post again when others ask for advice and help in that area.

For Gus and others who don't know or remember GaGambler: CDL and Nicky already provided some info about and praise for GaG. He was a very valuable if sometimes controversial contributor to the boards and an unquestionably prolific whoremonger. BUT he had zero reviews. I was trying to highlight CDL's ruling that if you never write a review you are a lurker and most lurkers are trolls. GaG was NOT a troll (IMO).
