I am contemplating getting rid of my 1960s era waterbed and finally joining the rest of the world when it comes to sleep surfaces.

Can't say enough good things. The firmness is adjustable on each side, which eliminated one of the longer running issues with my wife.  I like it hard, she likes it soft.  

in my experience , the firm mattresses are better for the hobby and solid frame, it also keeps noise to the minimum

I heard you can't fuck on those ... Maybe it's the memories.

I like a firm mattress. A pillow top is too soft for me.  If you get a memory foam and live in a warm climate, consider getting a cooling gel top mattress cover.

Casper without a hesitation is what I recommend. Great price, great warranty and incredibly comfortable. I have had now for 8 months and it is better than anything I have ever had and I slept in a waterbed from 1983 - 1998, I held on as long as I could and never found a better nights sleep until Casper.

Just got a new memory foam for my new apartment. It is excellent. My ATF did comment that it is very comfy a few days ago...

expensive and ridiculously difficult to move around. But forms to your body without pressure points, and flexes immediately when you move;  unlike memory foam, which makes me feel like I've been encased in a mold after I sink into it.

I don't think I would invest in regular mattress pads for sleeping again.  When I'm single, I'm a middle of the bed sleeper and like if firm. This mattress works well for me.  The foam rib down the middle would be uncomfortable for soft sleepers.  I am always worried a little too much fun on the mattress will pop it someday.

Bought it about 18 months ago. It goes on sale at Costco for $100 off every so often.

It is apparently highly rated. I've heard great things about it too from friends who have enjoyed it. I am actually looking for one for myself now.

I've had mine for 10 years and it is, and probably was one of my best investments.  

I slept on a waterbed for years and loved it! Got talked into a regular  bed and
 have been frustrated ever since, until I got a sleep number bed. Recommended to me by a family member, and I love it. Sex is not an issue on it, most important!

It doesn't make for better sex and yet makes finding sheets that fit more difficult. Also, ideally,  mattresses should be rotated and flipped occasionally, which doesn't work well with the pillow top.

DONT, they are the WORST to have sex on......just ask my wife, she complains daily that she sinks too much and cant get any "traction" as she calls it!!!   LOL
