Before the fall out there was a rule on here that we could not link our ads/website with every reply/post as it appeared to be advertising..

I know many new gals did not know this... but I am curious if this rule is still in affect or for the time being it is being lifted?

If so I will follow suit lo

I think that is still the rule. That is why they added the "ad boards". You can pretty much link anything there except anything that they would think as a "competitive review site". I know they allow links to personal websites and p411 but would of course for example would not have allowed  a link to your ad on the failed place you previously used.

The official policy is that you can put your ad link in a reply to someone else's but not in an OP.

The exact text is "By participating in the discussions on TER discussion boards, you can greatly increase your visibility and give potential clients the opportunity to get to know you better. You may include your link in messages, (except if you start a thread, the link is not allowed in the OP), you contribute to on any TER discussion board, that does not count toward your ad limit.  In fact, you are encouraged to include your link, because it helps everyone get to know you better.  Just please make those linked messages meaningful, entertaining, or helpful contributions. "

This can be found under the newbie help at the bottom of the page - link attached

it used to be looked down upon  to do that with every comment... especially in GD

...and oddly enough (eye roll) didn't know the rules.  But the posts should be on topic and contribute to the discussion. Then just stick the link in at the bottom in the link field.

I just thought it common sense to link one on since it isn't automatically done? For example, if i want to view someone's ad, i click on their name, and lo and behold, i get a message box to pm them. Then i click on the envelope below their name, same thing pops up. But hey,  two hyperlinks to one destination seems fine by me. It might be looked down upon (maybe) but my comments have not been denied due to me linking my website link when i comment on posts.
