"That one."

For those who saw the debate, how do people feel about McCain's statement?

It's seemed awfully disrespectful to me.

It seemed condescending at the least.  It's clear that after the election is over, these two won't be buddies.

Reading any more into it than disdain is probably just wishful thinking, IMHO.

do you really think it's appropriate not to show respect for the only other candidate for President of the United States?  McCain doesn't have to like him.  He can even be his enemy, but to me, respect is mandatory.  Less than that is an insult to all of his supporters.  Does McCain really want to insult half of America?

That's an opinion.  An opinion that is obviously not shared by many many Americans.  He won his party's primary.  As his party is the largest in the country, what does a lack of respect for the man say about all of his supporters?  Just seems small minded and lousy strategy to me.  Hard to believe that's evidence of someone who "reaches across the aisle."

Oh yeah, BTW, you said "how can you respect someone who is bent on destroying the U.S."  Do you really believe that Obama's INTENT is to destroy the U.S.?

His Tax Policy alone will further destroy the U.S. economy. Raising Capital Gains Tax, raising Business Tax, and social security without Caps???

Mr. RB, are you an investor?...are you a Small Business owner? If you're none of the above, then I think it's best that you just shut your pie-hole. Don't make us think that you're a TERRORIST SYMPATHIZER.

for this country so that we can live in freedom. McCain knew buddies who died for this country. It is a feeling I only know one word to call it; love. While McCain's buddies were dying, William Ayers was bombing the Pentagon. William Ayers betrayed his country and other than abusing children that is the worst crime anyone can commit.

For me I would embrace my captor, the Viet Cong in my brotherhood before I shake the hand of William Ayers. That goes for Jane Fonda as well. I know, you will probably never understand and that is fine. It hurts.

and bringing prisoners like McCain home. Ultimately, the country agreed with Ayers. Was Ayers trying to terrify the American population? That's what I don't know. He did apologize to a person injured in a bombing. He considered the Pentagon bombing a success as it shut down the bombing of Vietnam for a few days, and didn't kill or injure anybody. Plus, I don't know how close Obama was to Ayers. He apparently couldn't have the guy arrested, or removed from his position.

And I don't think McCain's refusal to treat Obama with respect is anything other than a strategy.

Lastly, I don't know what you're going to do when President Obama is sworn in.

Then there is no hope for me and many SBOs. Do you not realize, too, that there are many more that disagree with you and Obama's tax policies?

I believe that you asked Balboa7 what he believed in, but I'll tell you what I believe in (and I'm not afraid to answer). I believe that Obama is lying. He might not destroy America, but his policies will...his lies will.

When BHO ran for senate, he promised for lower taxes in Chicago. Did it ever happen? No. Instead, he voted several times for increased taxes.

Lies like that is what's going to destroy America. Mr. RB, how about you?...to you, it's ok to sympathize with friends of Terrorists. So what else is ok with you?

McCain home from 'nam. President Nixon and his stratagem with the soldiers, marines, sailors and airman executing his orders is what brought the POWs home. I have met and spoken to many Vietnam Veterans and they all same thing.

If you disagree with this government's policies we have the Consitution of the United States which men and women such as the 54,000 plus names on the Vietnam Memorial, McCain, GOP Geezer were sworn to protect and preserve to the best of their abilities.

If I was McCain I would tell the American how I personally feel about friends of terrorists. If I lose the election, so be it.

If Obama, and I say "IF" he is elected he will deserve the respect of his office, but until and unless he achieves the office of POTUS he is not entitled to shit.

I wonder how you libbies will react to your hero being called "chimp" if he is elected? You seem to have no problem calling the current POTUS by that name.

that you feel your life is too good and you should pay more into the system that's fine. I believe you should do like Doc Gonzo and give YOUR money away just like Doc. I think charity is an honoralbe thing and without charitable contributions the world would be worse off.

What I object to is your wanting to donate MY money to YOUR charities. You do realize of course that if you raise my taxes by several hundred grand a year, that is many middle class jobs that are going to be sacrificed not to mention equipment that won't be purchased, wells that won't be put into production, etc etc.

You do know that republicans were also on the *same* board that Obama and Ayers were on.  So, using your idiotic logic, are those republicans "Terrorist sympathizers?"  Please.  It's a dead end topic.

Finally, do you have any "new" baloney arguments to bring to the table?  How about I refresh you on certain facts:

1.  Biggest increase in size of Federal Government?  A Conservative Republican: Dubya.  Before that?  H. W. Bush.  Before that?  Reagan.

2.  Biggest increase in taxes?  H. W. Bush.

It's funny that you republicans continue on the same BS argument on taxes, etc. etc.  when it's your own damn party that is the biggest culprit of them all.

Ironic, ain't it?

and yet have nothing to show for to pay for the services/etc. they propose.

At the same time:

1.  Biggest increase in size of Federal Government?  Dubya, before him?  H. W. Bush.  Before him?  Reagan.

2.  Biggest increase in taxes?  H. W. Bush.

Funny how you as a republican continue to rail on Dems/Libs, yet it's your own damn people you put in office that are the biggest culprits.

Ironic, ain't it?

I'm fine with paying more taxes so that the government works well for all of our citizens, not just the wealthiest few.  I would not be OK if the government stopped working for my benefit, but it should work for others also.  After all, for the most part, it doesn't matter what they do, as long as they stop me from getting bombed, I'm going to be OK.
