Real doctors get their information from the medical literature (and drug company sales reps). People have known about the antiviral effects of Hydroxychloroquine / Azithromycin / Zinc for MANY years. The doctors testing various combinations (H+A, H+A+Z, ...) out of desperation had plenty of precedents to do so. They also knew the medical explanations of why these therapies even had a chance to work. This was not "throw everything in the medicine cabinet up against the virus and see what sticks." The decisions were based on REAL science, not "a feeling."

Unfortunately, his data is anecdotal and not "controlled" or monitored in any other way. 800 successes out of 800 trials is kind of suspicious. He could very well be selecting patients w/o test results; he might be avoiding treating or including patients who are already highly compromised. He might be excluding patients who complain of side effects. That's why Fauci and other scientists want controlled clinical trials, not anecdotal evidence.

There were "cures" among the treated but almost at the same rate as there were among those who didn't take H + A. There were other problems with the Chinese studies. You answered your own question. She reversed "field ... after hearing FROM HER MEDICAL PEOPLE" not based on Trump's "feelings" or rants at the lectern. In many desperate cases, MDs are prescribing H+A(+Z) for lack of any other option, at this time. They might see patients improve and recover but we won't know if it was spontaneous or due to the H+A+Z or for some other reason without controls.

When using placebo, the placebo patients also received better treatment. Patients not taking the test drugs received less attention and care. Good clinical trials are double blinded to control for all sorts of variables like that.

When outcomes are close (10 patients w/o drug, 8 spontaneous recoveries) vs (10 patients w/ drug, 9 recoveries), the statistics of small numbers become very iffy. (If it is was 10/1 survivor, 10/9 survivors the statistical analysis of small numbers is more reliable.) Because there are so many patients who recover on their own, you need larger numbers to see if there is a statistically significant benefit. (Some made up numbers for a group of 1000: 500 no drug/437 survivors; 500 w/drug / 486 survivors: random error or a real benefit?)

Every person I know who has taken it comes down with the flu. It is not wise to take it, imho. Taking at covid-19 vaccine could be dangerous, not recommended.
First of all, google "natural news - Wikipedia". You'll see that it's a discredited web site that wants to sell its own nostrums. Secondly, there are different kinds of vaccines with regard to how they're made. The two most common types that we have developed for the flu as we know it, are: (1) attenuated (LAIV) and (2) inactivated (IIV). These use the live organism in a weakened form whereby antibodies are formed by the human host without having to cope with the full infection. One of the side effects however, is that a percentage of those inoculated still get the flu. The other type of vaccine is called a recombinant. The live organism is not used; rather only its DNA. Thus it can't replicate. These are more difficult to produce.
I don't know for sure but I would assume that the work being done on the coronavirus involves the recombinant approach since it is safer.
I wouldn't put down vaccine therapy based on anecdotal accounts. Remember Jenny McCarthy, the soft porn actress turned expert who claimed her son came down with autism after getting vaccinated? she was the toast of daytime TV. I've gotten the flu vaccine every year for decades. The result? I have never gotten the flu and I've never had a bad reaction to the vaccine. I've also been vaccinated against Pneumonia, Shingles, Tetanus and about another half dozen diseases and have NEVER had a bad reaction.
