In a surprise to no one due to her earlier comments, the Democrat Sec of State of Maine says Trump cannot be on the primary ballot. As with Colorado, she suspends effect of decision on appeal. She previously said Trump should have been removed from office during the impeachment, and so obviously was going to rule against him.

Maine primary is March 5th.  Not sure when names have to be in for materials to be printed up.  Although I imagine it is pretty soon.  This may be another moot case.  

It does look like the Democrats intend to keep doing these ballot challenges until one of them actually threatens to block either a primary or the general election ballot -- forcing the SCOTUS to rule.

She may be acting in good faith but I don't think these decisions help Joes cause at all. It's one person, a Democrat, removing Joes most likely opponent, a Republican, from the ballot. Many people may view this as an attempt for voter disenfranchisement and Trump Inc will just add this case to "prove" the "deep state" is trying to screw him. Just another version of his "the system is rigged" canard.

I'm saddened by the authoritarian nature of the modern liberal.  If they don't like what you say, you are cancelled.  If they don't like certain views, they censor.  If they don't like certain politics they remove you from the ballot.

He governed as a moderate and started no wars.  The poverty rate was the lowest in history the last year of his administration.  The economy was doing great until Covid.  He followed Fauci's advice on combating covid.  His immigration rules were eventually upheld by the Supreme Court.

Could you be specific in which area he was "totalitarian"?  Even Biden has lost in the Supreme Court, so it will have to be something egregious.    He was found not guilty in the two partisan impeachments.

Sec of State of Maine is appointed by the state senate/house members, not elected by the public.  The three branches of Maine government are all controlled by Democrats.

Maine is inconsequential. Also, CA, a DEEP blue state, declined to take Trump off its ballot.
Besides, the whole thing will be decided by SCOTUS, as it should.

Anti-Trump: legal actions throughout state and federal courts to protect our Democracy.

(d) Celebrate that Trump and his chaos will be over (or HOPE that it will over) and progress will continue at a faster pace.
(e) I will wonder (1) If Trump's carcass will be allowed to "LIE in State" in the Capitol Rotunda before burial. It will surely give new meaning to the expression. I can see the headlines: "Trump's Last Big Lie." (2) If Trump will be allowed to be interred at Arlington National Cemetery or if his will calls for somewhere else. IF buried at Arlington, will there be lawsuits to have him removed elsewhere for his insurrection? (3) Will Trump's family want him buried at a Trump Golf Course to get another tax break? If so, I predict membership to EXPLODE with people wanting to play a round of golf and piss on his grave. (4) How will the Trump family grift off of Dead Don? Raise money for a memorial or mausoleum ("We need $100 Million to build a beautiful gold mausoleum for our dead Daddy.") and then keep 90% of the take for themselves ... as a way of honoring their patriarch. (5) I wonder about other related possibilities.

(f) Submit a petition to have the medical examiner take X-rays of Trump's Dead Feet to see if there are bone spurs or not.
(g) More possibilities.

Hmm, if Maine kept Trump off the ballot, but Trump went on to win the election and become president, wouldn't Maine be in rebellion to the USA?  Under the 14th Amendment all their Senators and Congressmen would be barred from federal office.  

Isn’t Maine a state where winners DO NOT take all as far as the electors go?
