That ideology, typically can be traced to a philosophy, theology, world view, etc. To hold such doesn't require one to go to church. What makes someone Christian is not just what they believe, but how they live their life. If someone has an ideology connected to a theology, in this case extremely loosely connected, but doesn't participate in any kind of religious or worship services, I would question how valid it is to call them Christian.
