Woman Kicked Out of New Zealand For Being Too Fat

'They were planning to start a new life in a new country but Rowan Trezise, age 33, has been told by the government of New Zealand that she and her husband may have to look elsewhere for a place to live, because she is too fat to be allowed into the country.'

The UK and Canada have implemented similar measures regarding health care rationing.

BTW, I know its a 'weird' linked source, but it's true. I just liked their picture best.

If the government pays for your health care they have the right to start regulating your lifestyle since they're picking up the bill.

Here in So California, Jan Perry, a Democrat is planning a registration that would ban fast food restaurants such as McDonalds and Kentucky Fried Chicken from opening in a 32 square mile radius of Los Angeles. The unprecedented move rises from high obesity rates in Los Angeles, not aesthetic reasons for banning fast food establishments such as others cities.

The funny thing about this registration, which impacts the inner city, is that she and other LA City Council members, with pressure from union groups, rejected a permit for a Fresh and Easy market. This market has a reputation for selling wholesome products, but is a non-union market.

Talk about social engineering and just plain stupid economics.

I'm not advocating it, but it's coming.  Employers are now allowed to ask about your personal habits (smoking, etc.) before hiring you since they are offering medical benefits.  So it isn't too far-fetched to believe that a national government providing free health care wouldn't be very excited about granting citizenship to a heart attack waiting to happen.

Downright Orwellian? Yup!

This law makes every bit as much sense as our own helmet and seat belt laws.

Is only a small part of weight control. The major issue is lifestyle

Tongue in cheek.

In the olden days, before the law of man, large beasts ruled the would.  Man was just food on two legs.

When a dumb cave man (or cave women) did something stupid they died. For example, say they walk out of a cave without looking up.  Well then, the Pterodactyl would grab your ass and fly away and feed to to their babies.

Now we have laws that protect the stupid, even from themselves.

If they are paying, they can impose restrictions.  This may sound so far off, but both Clinton and Obama dropped hints that care could - could - be affected by conduct.  In other words, if you willing do things that contribute to your problem, your care could be limited.

Smoking, eating, sex, drinking, riding motorcycles, and a score of other things could eventually be linked to this.

Yes, people will laugh.  Hey, they banned cigarettes, but I don't like smoking.  There are now "scent free" building starting to pop up.  Starting.  I am old enough to remember the first voluntary smoke free.

You want a nanny state, they will take care of you, and tell you how to wipe your ass.
