I highly recommend everyone watch this documentary from 2010. It fairly explains how stupid and how devastating the notion of a wall between US and Mexico is, was, and forever shall be.  It is clear the Trump doesn’t actually believe a wall would be effective for anything at all.   This is just his attempt to build himself a grand memorial to his and hopefully not America’s own stupidity.

Look at how Hillary answered the question:

So Jinx, first she said it was a "fence", then she called it a "barrier" and then had to concede in some places she believed it could have in fact been a "wall."

The Great Wall in China to protect them from the Mongolian Horde. The Berlin Wall to keep disaffected East Germans in. You know what happened. Same the the Great Beautiful Trump Wall. Just a footnote in history.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Dems back down and give him his counter-productive wall in return for DACA.
I’m hoping, for once, the Dems grow a pair and tell Trump “fuck you and your wall, we ain’t agreeing, and if you wanna shut down the gov’t, we’ll see how it works out for you in the MidTerms (2018)”

Mexico is ordering a Komatsu D575A dozer, the world's biggest that can take down a mile of wall in twenty minutes.    They will claim it was an accident and meanwhile a mile long whole is opened.

Trump ALSO said, Mexico would pay for the wall.  Why are politicians letting him get away with that stupid, empty promise?

She didn't say a wall even though you lied and insisted she did.  She said a combination of a physical wall and other technical means.  It make ZERO sense to build a wall in large areas of the border. Go away.

I have said so here at least 3 or 4 times. I don't think the wall is "stupid" I just think the cost/benefit isn't worthwhile

 
But Trump won, and it was a major part of his campaign/promises, and he gets to pursue it. Of course the wall will "work" to some degree. I just disagree with Trump on how much it will help.
