Could someone tell me what Chauvin's defense is? I am being serious. Can anyone walk me through how his attorney will defend him? I haven't been following the case that closely as I always felt it was a slam dunk for the D.A. but some news reports are saying it isn't as clear cut as I think. How can that be?

His defense will be to claim that he did what he has been trained to do and nothing more. (Not much I know - but that's what I have gathered so far from the news/ analysis from CNN etc.)

1) Floyd was stoned on his ass and might have lived if his system hadn't been suppressed by drugs.
2) Perhaps because of the drugs, Floyd over-reacted became difficult and resisted arrest, forcing Chauvin to forcibly restrain him.
3) There is a reasonable doubt based on the autopsy report that Chauvin's actions were the cause of death.

This is all bullshit, but the role of the defense in a case like this is to create "reasonable doubt" in the mind of the jury.
I don't believe it's going to work, but that's just a guess.
From the beginning of the bust correct procedure was NOT followed. How so?

1) Chauvin approached the car with his gun drawn, which is against police procedure when no deadly force is apparent.
2) He used foul language in addressing someone who was clearly upset but offering no resistance.
3) He had the handcuffs too tight and also twisted them, causing pain.
4) Floyd was manhandled inside the car.
5) Floyd complained continually about having trouble breathing. All they needed to do was sit him down and prop him up until he calmed down.
6) Chauvin refused to let anyone check Floyd's pulse when he became unresponsive.
7) 9:29.

In the end, everything else won't matter but these points right here. Don't know if it will be second-degree or not, but Chauvin will be convicted of something.  An acquittal is possible but not probable, and by possible but not probable I mean it's possible I could wind up in a threesome with Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston at the same time.  POSSIBLE... but not probable.

Now, all that being said Floyd was probably a dead man walking. I say this because the buddy (who plead the 5th) was going to testify that Floyd had in a panic swallowed even more pills (so they wouldn't be found by the police) as the police approached the vehicle. That begs the question, were those drugs fully digested and absorbed, or was an even larger dose winding its way through Floyds system that would have killed him on the way to the police station had he not resisted and allowed himself to be transported?

The Libs just ignore it.  There is still rioting going on in Portland, but its not in the news anymore because they don't want to blame the Dems.   People dropping babies 10 feet over the border wall is a lot more sexy when it comes to news.

the mayor of Minneapolis just put out a warning to potential rioters “that rioting would not be tolerated this time!” Then he had to couch it with white supermecists from Texas came up and caused the riots last summer!  😲 seriously he said that...

The Star Tribune could not independently verify the police account, which has so far only surfaced in the search warrant, and isn't naming the man because so far he has not been charged with a crime. The man, who has a criminal history that includes convictions of domestic violence and assault, did not respond to messages seeking comment. Spokespersons for the Minneapolis Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, which is also involved in the investigation, declined to comment.

So they haven’t I don’t know.... charged the supposed individual with any crime?  And this guy incited the whole riot?
