1) Floyd was stoned on his ass and might have lived if his system hadn't been suppressed by drugs.
2) Perhaps because of the drugs, Floyd over-reacted became difficult and resisted arrest, forcing Chauvin to forcibly restrain him.
3) There is a reasonable doubt based on the autopsy report that Chauvin's actions were the cause of death.
This is all bullshit, but the role of the defense in a case like this is to create "reasonable doubt" in the mind of the jury.
I don't believe it's going to work, but that's just a guess.
From the beginning of the bust correct procedure was NOT followed. How so?
1) Chauvin approached the car with his gun drawn, which is against police procedure when no deadly force is apparent.
2) He used foul language in addressing someone who was clearly upset but offering no resistance.
3) He had the handcuffs too tight and also twisted them, causing pain.
4) Floyd was manhandled inside the car.
5) Floyd complained continually about having trouble breathing. All they needed to do was sit him down and prop him up until he calmed down.
6) Chauvin refused to let anyone check Floyd's pulse when he became unresponsive.
7) 9:29.
