…prosecuted the cops that killed her. One cop, Brett Hankison, wildly fired 10 shots from outside the house through the window but did not fire the shot that killed Breonna Taylor.

Hankison was convicted in November, 2024 by Biden’s DOJ of violating Taylor’s civil rights.  However, the sentencing was done today under Trump’s DOJ.

The sentencing guidelines call for a sentence of 33 to 41 months.  Trump’s DOJ asked for a sentence of one day.  ONE DAY!!!!!!!
The DOJ’s sentencing memo for Hankison downplayed his role ing the raid at Taylor’s home, saying “he did not shoot Ms. Taylor and his otherwise not responsible for her death.”

http://www.reuters.com/legal/government/us-judge-sentences-ex-police-officer-33-months-violating-civil-rights-breonna-2025-07-21/

Incredible!  Trump’s DOJ sounds like they’re DEFENDING the cop, not prosecuting him.  The judge ignored the DOJ and sentenced Hankison to 33 months.

Don’t worry, though, Trump will pardon the cop as soon as he’s sentenced.  Trump loves cops…except the ones that tried to stop him from committing treason.

You’re reciting the details of the case “from memory” but you “haven’t looked at the case in years.”  Yet you expect ME to correct YOU if you got anything wrong.

It’s up to YOU to post the facts of the case correctly.
As it is, your post is nothing more than a nice plate of “Scheiße.”

IOW, a lie.

So my take on this whole exchange.  (i never looked into this whole thing and want to be brought up to speed)

Only thing that is being refuted is that Taylor wasn't a "known drug mule".... correct?

The rest of what is being said is true???

The police had a warrant for a drug dealer, police announced prior to entering, drug dealer open fired, police returned fire, people died during the exchange?

Are those the facts?

Then now sentencing under one DOJ was 31 to 44 months and another (NEW DOJ) wants 1 day?

Are those the facts?

Now Even if these facts are 100% true or even if some are true and some are not.

Here is my take on what happened for about 2-3 years.  Our justice system was out of whack.  After the Floyd/BLM riots.  Many courts, political leaders, etc. all went too overboard on things.  I am not saying people didn't do wrong.  But they went overboard to "appease" a demographic in fear of more riots and chaos (I'm not being racist I am talking about the protesters who were going nuts).   Just like they did with the whole "hands up don't shoot" fucking fiasco and lie.   Remember that with Mr. Brown.  How he as just a little innocent boy.  Yet when all the facts played out.  That was far from the truth.   Again.... I am not saying that these police might have not done everything by the books or could have done things differently.   But should the punishment be the full 31-44 months.... or should it be less?  Should it be the 1 day or should it be something in between?

Because if the facts that were presented are in fact TRUE (which none of you have refuted yet).... it looks like the 31-44 months is harsh for police doing their job.  Now an officer firing blindly into a home, thru a wall, not knowing your target, could hit other police officers, etc..... not protocol.

Now don't go off on saying... WELL IT IS YOUR JOB TO PROVE.... no it is yours in a debate to prove him wrong as well.

Perhaps you might like to. Or maybe Wanker will get up off of his lazy ass and do it. But please don't tell me what's my responsibility to prove or disprove. I don't play that.

I dont feel like to.

But my statement remains the same about how our justice system OVER CORRECTED big time during those years.

"Lady Justice" wasn't blind.  The system tilted against police to appease a base.   Again not saying police are completely innocent in all of this.  Like I stated someone shooting blindly from outside of a building isn't protocol... if that is what happened.   But other instances judges knew what could/would happen in communities IF a verdict went a certain way so they tilted the trial. They suppressed evidence or didn't allow certain things to be presented to juries.  They didn't let certain testimony happen.  They didn't let certain evidence happen.  etc.

I am from Minnesota.  The stuff that happened during the Chauvin Trial would piss many off.  Again... he isn't 100% innocent in all of this.  But he was thrown to the wolves.  A "star" witness was caught lying.  But testimony allowed.  The judge after the trial even admitted to doing what i stated about suppression of evidence... but they are not allowing a retrial as of yet.   The other officers go throw to the wolves as well.  Again the sentencing didn't match what really happened.  Like I stated they did this to appease the mass so things did "relight" the riots/destruction type shit.

Yep... again twist exactly what I fucking said.

Did I not say people did wrong.  Did I not say im not being racist.   Did I not say cops do wrong.  Did I not mention how judges did wrong with suppression of evidence and what not.

Do you know all the fucking civil rights laws and rules out there.   SO.... Yeah they have been.  But they have been corrected.  that is why we have those fucking laws.

Are you one that thinks there should be Reparations???

YOU ARE FUCKING OBTUSE.

There will always be racism.  Sad but true.  there will always be some fuck stick that will discriminate.  When people bring RACE up in every fucking issue it keeps racism even more alive.  LET THAT SINK IN.  The more you bring it up the more it stays alive.  Think about younger generations... kids now are not growing up with parents that grew up in the 60's.  They are growing up with parents that are tolerant and what not.  They have to find out about racism on TV or racist hate on TV.  They are taught on TV to hate a black person because color of skin type shit. it isn't parents (unless they are skin heads) So when your RACE WARRIORS keep saying our country is so racist.... when it isn't.  Kids think this or develop ideas that maybe I should be.   HELL.... look at the whole "Black Fatigue" bull shit now.  Think about it.  White people have been called racist long enough for no reason....let that sink in.

You say ICE is racially profiling....  HOW?   Going after "brown" people?  That is the media saying that.

You do know they are working off TIPS.  They just dont walk down the street and say... Hey there is a brown person lets check them out.   Any story that says that is pure bull shit.  SORRY BUT IS TRUE.   All of those are debunked.  They either are proven to be that the person had a warrant, was with someone who had a warrant, was in a place that was raided outside of that place (caught in friendly fire type thing), pulled over because of something illegal (speeding, expired plates, etc.)  I work with lots of Hispanics and many customers are Hispanic.  Most are here legally.  I say most because you can never be 100%.  Also because it is ILLEGAL to ask nationality on job applications or any application (CIVIL RIGHT LAW in many states). But they are not scared of ICE.  They said the ones getting targeted deserve it because they are breaking "big laws".....ie: drug crimes, violent crimes, etc.  OR have in the past.   That is what they are telling me.  But again the ones I know tell me they have green cards, work visa's, became citizens, etc.   Anyways.... side track.

But I am seeing in my area that isn't TRUE.  Plus what I see on the news story after story debunked with the "targeting".  One out of 1000 might be true.   But again like I stated before.... you will never cure racism.... sad but true.

Well inicky.... is kind of right in some of those statements.

Not all ANTIFA and BLM were rioters.  Many were peaceful protesters.

But much of ANTIFA is agitation, instigation, etc.

BLM now.... look how it was a SCAM.  Honestly... where's the $$$.

Also many politicians were pushing agitation.   GET IN THE FACE OF.... DONT BACK DOWN.... YOU SEE THEM IN THE STREETS FIGHT BACK.... etc.

They hypocrisy is crazy.  They gave fiery speeches then used Trumps fiery speech as the main evidence to impeach him.  Even though he said go peacefully.

Also bad actors use things to riot.   Look how idiots use a sports team winning so they can "riot".  Let that sink in.

But I digress.

That "summer of love"  was bull shit.  Like I talked about the justice system "skewed" too far and didn't give everyone a fair shack to appease groups like BLM and ANTIFA.  so they wouldn't have riots, take overs, more violence towards police, etc.  Some used it to gain political favor....ie: swing the direction they wanted it to go....left or right.  Now I agree with the verdict but think Rittenhouse.   It was self defense all day.  But he could have possibly gotten reckless use of a firearm or other lessor type charges.

Anyways with this case in the OP.  Like I stated prior.  If the facts so far presented are TRUE.

1. Not a drug mule

But rest true.... legal warrant, announced entry, fired upon first, etc.  Does the punishment of 31-44 months fit.... NO.  1 day fit either.... Maybe not depending on other evidence....ie: Firing thru walls blindly type shit.  Control of firearm, where was Taylor compared to boyfriend when shot, etc.

The more people keep bringing up RACISM the more they keep it ALIVE.   Sad but True.

Like I mentioned above.  Kids now are being raised by parents that are more open, free thinkers, tolerant, not racist, etc.

So where are the youth getting "racist" ideas..... TV, MEDIA, etc.  It isn't being taught by parents like in the 60's.

Now look at the whole "BLACK FATIGUE" stuff going on.  How people are jumping on that band wagon.   Let that sink in.  especially for the past 5 years or so.  "White people" are sick of being blamed or called racist for every fucking thing going on.  Community leaders just wont recognize TRUTHS like Chicago violence, absentee fathers (this goes beyond race it is facts in all households), etc.  They rather blame "systematic racism".   NO IT IS BAD BEHAVIOR.... not racism... bad people doing bad things.  I mean people are trying to say STEALING is ok or it is "Racist" to blame people for stealing.  WTF.

Anyways..... I will get off my soap box.  What I mean by the whole movement of "black fatigue"... which needs to stop. It will push people back to being more racist.  SAD BUT TRUE.  So media needs to squash this and squash calling everything "racist".  Same goes for political leaders, community leaders, etc.  Just call out bad actors for what they are BAD PEOPLE.

The rest is NOT true.  The warrant was technically “legal” because it was signed by a judge.  But a cop LIED to the judge in order to get him to issue the warrant (and he was fired for it).  In fact, when the cop was sentenced yesterday, he said he would have acted differently if he had known about “issues” in the preparation of the search warrant.  He stated: “I NEVER WOULD HAVE FIRED MY GUN.”

“Announced entry” - that’s disputed.  The cops had a “no-knock” warrant.  They didn’t have to announce entry.  So why would they?  Cops don’t do anything they’re not legally required to do.

crsm: “Does the punishment of 31-44 months fit….  NO.”
So?  Those are the federal sentencing guidelines.  You got a problem with it?  Call your senator or congressman.  Judges hands are pretty much tied because of the Sentencing Reform Act of 1984.

Since you're new here, SPOAT stands for Stupidest Poster Of All Time.
And among the things he's incapable of comprehending (or not lying about) is that what I actually said in context is pretty much how you summarized it:
Not ALL protesters were BLM or Antifa. Not ALL protesters set fires and robbed stores. SOME BLM protesters were just protesting and doing it peacefully.
The SPOAT is either too stupid or too toxic to comprehend the subtleties here.
Oh, and despite what Wanker endlessly repeats, BLM did NOT "burn down half of America." SOME BLM protesters DID burn down far too many places, but it was more like one tenth of one percent and probably far less than that.
I welcome a right-of-center poster who is capable of comprehending the difference.

Like I stated....

You corrected the story I was given.

I didn't know it was a "NO KNOCK".... so they didn't announce or didn't have too announce.

Federal guidelines... it didn't know that....   But lots of times federal minimums are ignored by judges.  Same goes for state minimums when it comes to crimes.  Why do sometimes judges ignore them and other times they dont?   We need consistency.   NOW after saying that.  I am one that says if a minimum is set.... stick to it.   So in this case... it is the 31-44 sentencing.

WELL.... there are guidelines and RULES.   Like a sitting president can't go to jail or be tried type thing.

Also if you look up the stuff he was "convicted" of were civil cases not criminal. (E, Jean Carrol case)

Which many people don't understand the verdict.  He was found guilty of sexual contact and lying about it.  He wasn't found guilty of "rape".  THIS WAS BUY A JURY.  The Judge stated "unofficially" he thought there could be enough evidence for a rape conviction.  BUT during a civil trial both defense and prosecution bring different evidence and approaches than they would criminal.  Some evidence that was admitted could have been suppressed and vice versa.

SO it would have been totally different scenario how both sides would have gone at the case.  It also means there could have been a totally different judge.... so who knows how the case would have gone in a CRIMINAL COURT SETTING......YES THOSE ARE THE FACTS.

NYC case was/is still getting appealed which there is guidelines/standards for release.

Plus you keep adding in false charges and allegations...but sometimes facts are escaping you.

Like I stated.... if guidelines are followed.... for sentencing.... I am for them.   Like I even stated.... IF Trump is guilty of things criminally, he shouldn't be "off scott free" and face same sentencing as everyone else.  MINUS SITTING PRESIDENT (since it is law).... but once out of office hammer him.

You are also forgetting people have rights during appeal process and there are guidelines, and some are up to a judge's discretion.  Which was awarded to Trump prior to this past election....and why his lawyers dragged everything out.   BTW....that is what Trump does....drag shit out.  Has done it for YEARS in court.  It is what many people/corporations do.  They throw appeals, injunctions, delays, ask for extensions, ask for removals, ask for change of venues, etc.  Drag it on until the courts get fed up and then they plea stuff down or both side come up with a bullshit middle ground deal.   I did it with a DUI case got it actually dropped because the officer didn't show up to testify about the validity of field testing and PBT (it threw an error and he didn't switch tubes)... but the judge gave me the speed ticket instead.
