It's always "my side is right, your side is evil/crazy!" There are super hyper partisans on this board that will never change and yes, they are on both sides. It's like (almost) no one can ever give an inch.

I think SM has greatly aggravated the healthy debate that needs to happen in a democracy. Everyone need clicks and likes on their posts online nowadays. Dems and Reps used to be rivals...but now they are bitter enemies. I think part of it allows each sides fringe to have a gigantic microphone and neither side pushes back on their crazies like they should.

Sadly, I dont see it getting better anytime soon, if ever. Look at the Right...Trump has brainwashed many of them into thinking he can do no wrong. Look at the Left...many key people would rather shut up and keep quiet than stand up to a person who was clearly cognitively impaired.

The days of "country first" is long gone. It's now all about "owning the libs" from the Right, and ridiculous Trump/Hitler analogies from the Left. Tough to come back from those two asinine stances.

The constant "can you top this" schoolyard taunts go on....and on.......and on........

So it has become like a team sport. Most people done even know what they voting for,nor do they make any demand on politicians before giving them their votes. So big corporations, oligarchs and other special interests will continue to e the only ones who benefits- mainly in the form of corporate socialism big tax cuts and write offs, loosen regulations and the green light to raise prices.
At the same time MAGA hats and other dumbed down Americans are brainwashed to be afraid of the word  and meaning of socialism in practice,
