I'm not a complete Dershowitz fan but he's got a good mind and his analysis here is worth considering.  I don't like Bannon but I've been waiting for someone to prove these anti-Semitic charges and am still waiting.  That said, I do think he's extreme and divisive.  But Trump has a right to pick his advisors, just as we have a right to criticize them.
And if anyone thinks Trump will dump the guy because he's catching heat for it, dream on.

Second of all, while anti-Semitism may be the main reason Libs are going after Bannon, it's not the only reason.  You really should know that.

I've never heard of incidents targeting Jews that came from that particular...what are they? Not an organization really, except that right now they're probably starting up at least one. Let's say by that label. It seems Blacks and Hispanics, primarily Mexicans, are the main targets. Immigrants from any non-European country are their most vocal concern.

I agree it's hard to make the case that Trump's an anti-Semite when his son-in-law and major advisor is an Orthodox Jew, his daughter is a convert and his new grandson is Jewish.  Also, the real estate business in New York has a lot of Jews in it so it would have been hard for Trump to succeed if he was known as an anti-Semite.
That said, what's troubling is that, despite all the above, Trump's intemperate words during the campaign have helped give freer rein to racists of all stripes.  He needs to own that and to tone it down.  He has a right to pick Bannon but he also needs to deal in a positive way with the outrage it has caused.

Show me the Jewish cemeteries being vandalized. Show me the Synagogues being torched. I don't see it. What I see are a bunch of professional agitators running rampant destroying personal property and disrupting communities at will with absolutely no criticism of it by the media. Yet Trump is to blame for all this invisible anti-Semitism? Don't buy it.

Whether Bannon is or is not anti-Semitic, specifically, is just the starting point for concern. His close association with Breitbart and the alt-right is the broader base of the problem.

Contrary to your assumption, in an effort to give Bannon the benefit of the doubt I actually did a significant amount of fact checking into Bannon. I was truly hoping that these allegations of anti-Semitism were untrue. Unfortunately the picture that has emerged, for me, is much more nauseating than just potential anti-Semitism.

Or the haters at the HuffyPoo? He has had people that have worked for him, now working for Bannon and they tell Dershowitz he is a great guy and not the person libs, who have an invested interest in, have smeared.

In my first post I acknowledged that Bannon can be AR without being anti-Semitic. If you actually read what these AR guys are about, you would see how this could easily be true---as weirdly improbable as is sounds.  

What does it really mean to be an AR? Who knows? It is a term that may mean one thing to you and something different to me. Something entirely different to Bannon.

Bannons connection to the Alt right movement is not nebulous. The problem is NOT that not much is known about Bannon. The problem is that what is known is alarming.
