tipping providers

I saw a provider who's working with an agency.  At the end of the session, the provider asked me if I brought any tip for her.  I was bit dumbfounded and felt guilty because I didn't bring any extra cash with me.

Is it a normal etiquette to "tip" a provider on top of the regular fee?  Does it make a difference if the provider is an independent or working with an agency?

Do providers usually expect a tip?

So yes, it's nice to tip the agency girl.

On the other hand, with independent girls, that's your choice.
The tip may already be worked into the donation since she can set her price at whatever she's comfortable with.

datekate made an excellent post about tipping:

Tips are always optional and based on the service you received.
With that said, I generally will tip an agency girl unless service was subpar.
They have to split with agency so the amount they keep is often less
Than what an Indy lady gets.
. Sometimes i also tip an Indy girl.
I've never had a lady ask me for a tip.

This provider was an independent for a while and started working with an agency recently.  I also let her know beforehand that I was a newbie.

I think combination of those two might have encouraged her to ask for a tip.

I am always pleasantly surprised when I get tips, no matter the size... It shows me the guy had fun, and thought I earned it.
You should only tip a provider if she went over the top of her normal service, or made you feel extra special, or did a service, she does not normally do..

But you dont tip automatically every girl. I dont care if they are a agency or indy.
You EARN the tip. It is not a RIGHT.

I remember back in Nevada, the girl's all had signs up saying tips appreciated greatly... I was so naive and green, I never had a sign like that. But now I know why they did it.. because they pay 50 percent of the fee to the house, pay taxes on that, buy supplies etc..

The tips are straight to the gal..

That is a totally different environment...

but no, if a gal has the gal to ask for a tip, even if I had planned on giving her one, that I would change my mind, because it would turn me off and leave a bad taste in my mouth..

You'll get many answers to this question but the bottom line is no you don't have to tip and the provider asking for one is Not ok.

Some guys get rather irate at even the suggestion that a tip is something you should do. Some just say tip if you want. Many as has already been said will tip agency providers because they get only 50% to 60% of what you paid.

The idea of tipping is you do it when you receive good service. Follow that rule in the hobby too. Don't feel like you have to tip and definitely don't tip if you don't feel it's deserved. I know if I had been inclined to tip a provider at the end of the session once she asked for it, my inclination would have taken a walk. She would have missed out. No way I'm tipping in that circumstance.

Don't feel guilty about not having been prepared to tip. You did nothing wrong. She did.

Do providers usually expect a tip? The ones that say anything about it say No. As for the rest we don't know what they think.

I am happy as long as they pay and dont short me! But if they do tip, it always makes me smile, I am happy that they thought I was good enough to get one, and it the client most definitely is logged mentally as a guy I want to keep seeing!

First, yes, it's always rude to ask. But most agencies take 40-50% of the donation, and many still make the girl cover her own incall expenses, so I don't really see how that's different that the NV brothel situation, where the take a big cut but provide location, etc. If I were a hobbyist, I'd tip every agency girl that I had a good experience with; especially if you plan on repeating/becoming a regular, I'd say your likely to get a more enthusiastic experience if the lady thinks she's 'auditioning' for extra $$.

As an independent, I set my rate and never expect anything more than that, although I'm always flattered if I do receive a tip/gift/flowers, etc.

...I have NEVER had a provider ask.  That is just....inappropriate.

I have only seen two agency providers, My very first provider date when I had no idea what the hell I was doing so it never occurred to me.  2nd time I tipped $50 on a $400 date that included a $100 PSE (Greek) upgrade, as I had learned agencies typically take 30-40%.  Yes she is there by choice at that rate and making a trade off, but still...I felt inclined but had it outside the envelope in my pocket pending performance then left it on the bathroom sink when I put my clothes on.

But no - as others have said - that was beyond tacky and inappropriate

Most women have a tip built in to their rates when they are average or higher, so if you felt the service was mind blowing, sure. No, asking is totally tacky and you should have slapped her ass and said "Don't eat yellow snow....there is your tip" lol. Joke. Don't smack her.

Do agency providers really rely on tips that much?.. or are you being sarcastic?

Asking for a tip is not proper etiquette by her but I have had it asked before as well.

Because one works for an agency is no excuse to receive a tip, she can just go indy and keep all the $$ for herself. It is not my responsibility to pay the agency for the services the agency provides but hers.

I usually tell my guys my donations are inclusive and tips are never required but always appreciated

....such as myself, tell our gentlemen friends, that the best tip one can receive, is be chosen for a future date.

I cannot speak for agency ladies, as I know they do not keep 100% of their gift.  As a sidebar, I would report the lady to the agency, as I do not believe the agency would be happy, with a lady soliciting for extra compensation.

   Just my .02.

Hugs and Kisses,

I've been wondering this myself. Glad someone brought it up. What I've been doing with the past 5 or 6 gals I've seen is this:  If I've been pleased with the service, which I have been, I have a gift card, usually $25, that I'll give them on my way out. Like a Starbucks or Panera, or something like that. They can use it as they like and its basically a token gesture of appreciation. But I also figure (at least I hope) it'll help them to remember me when they're being used as a reference - "oh yeah, the guy who gave me the gift card, he's safe and worth seeing."  So, for whatever that's worth.

If she is actually having to rent a room, she has made 50 bucks, if that. The agency does not pay for your room out of their fee, unless they have private locations set up, like I do. I take 60 bucks a call from my girls, and that's it. Most take half.

But really, if they are gonna have the gall to take half, the best be providing the incall, ALL of her advertising, and if touring all the transport to get there....

A lot of these agencies will only work or hire new women to this business for that reason, because they rip them off.. But the girl does not know better, and it pays better than Mickey D's lol

MANY leave once they find out the truth behind the owners lol

When I worked for Maxine a LONG time ago, she took a flat $50 per appt from the girls...

If the girl chooses to work for a agency who is ripping her off, then thats her choice.... and should not demand a tip just because she works for a blood sucker

I provide the incalls and only charge per call for the location, not the "pimp" fee lol.
