You might try posting on your local board and inquire there.

You can also join a screening service like Datecheck and P411.

There are lots of threads on this board on the subject, so I suggest scrolling down and doing some research.

I'm a complete newbie, but I've been browsing around here for a bit and have figured some things out.  Above replier made a good point about going through a verification service.  There's quite a few around and most are accepted.  I've actually just gone and went through Room Service 200's verification process myself.  They let providers know that you are who you say you are, and providers will most likely see you if you're verified.

Other way to get references is obviously to see girls and check with them if they're okay with the idea.  If they are then you're free to use them as a reference if required by another provider.

If a provider is willing to see you with zero info. you better run, because that says she could not care less about her life, safety, or yours.

indicate if they are newbie friendly.  Gina, the site owner, is pretty good about working with those in your situation to get you verified on P411.  After you see someone ask if they would give you a reference (whitelist) here, or vouch for you on one or more of the dating sites, if you join more than one.
