You are very kind-hearted, flora, and I appreciate that.  But I've seen too many talented people  squander their gifts like this and I have run out of sympathy.  It's not like it happened out of the blue.  She's been on this road for years but could not help driving herself off a cliff.

As one who's been in the business for many years and a personal witness to a number of these tragedies, consider this: Not an excuse but fact. There is a reason why some people go into the arts. They are a different breed than a lawyer, shoe salesman, welder or administrator. Artists are cut from a different cloth. They march to a different drummer. A real artist, who sticks to his/her guns, lives a life that can be a cold and lonely road. Drugs, drink, etc. are hazards of the artist's work place--studio, road, etc.--where one is not surrounded by office workers, family or necessarily real friends but often sycophants and worse. It has been this way since time immemorial and will continue to be so.

What do politics have to do with this exactly?

Jesus, some people used to see commies under the bed.  How the hell do you know the political leanings of the people around her?  Are you clairvoyant, or do you monitor their thoughts through the fillings in your teeth?

The point being about liberals pacifying and coddling the junkies of the world.  If the media, liberal media, liberal music industry did not give her awards, no matter what the atlent, because she is a poor reflection of society, the industry etc maybe she would have cleaned up her act to achieve those rewards and awards.

But as long as societies liberals tolerate this level of conduct there will be more death that no one should feel sorry for.  

She did it to herself with a full assist of her liberal industry.
