It would be a cop show, based upon that classic series "Get Smart!", called "Get Fucked!".  (It would have to be on cable--lots of gratuitous nudity and strong, realistic language.)  It would be about a Vice Unit in a town, let's call it Rosetown.  The premiere episode would be when our gritty cops, through exhaustive legwork, discover that there is a prostitution ring,called The Rosetown Roses, operating in their fair city.  It is easy for them to get a judge to sign off on a warrant for cell phone and email records, and then would follow a rapid-cut series of scenes in which a SEX PARTY STING us set up. Before actual arrests are made, lots of nudity and semi-sex is engaged in by the cops and Roses, because the cops are grossly underpaid and deserve a little fun before bringing the party to an end and making arrests.  Of course, a ton of horrible jokes and puns and visuals are de rigor--I imagine lotsof fun could be gotten out of condoms and dildos.
The next episode would be, of course, a legal/courtroom procedural in which deals are cut, charges are dismissed or enhanced, and the Roses expand their territory and rename themselves the Hennepin Hens.

I forgot all about the character of the compromised media type who breaks the story, but is a customer of one of the youngest Roses/Hens.

Language is indicative of types/styles of thinking--your use of the word "admitting" somehow casts some aspersion that I had an ulterior motive.  I did not.  I am not resorting to name-calling, as some others seem to choose to do too often on this board.   I was in no way intending to drum up business for anyone, or jeopardize business for anyone else.  (I doubt I have that kind of power.)

i was not attacking anyone; i was attempting, through poor satire, to simply question whether or not they wanted to use a public forum to advertise, and tried, and clearly to some number of people failed, to do this in a way i found humourous.  your guesses about me are completely wrong, since you don't know me.   i personally know nothing of any of the providers involved, and as far as i know anything about any providers on this board, i have no idea if any in particular are not safe to see.  i would more likely assume in fact that they are safe to see.  i made no "assurtions" such as you portray.  and finally, if this thread needs to be pulled, TER admin can pull it--if i had it "pulled" it is my sense that you would just assume i was acknowledging the correctness of your opinions, and i do not do so.  you are wrong about me.

I read the same OP as everyone else, and my first thought was that he was having a silly little fantasy about whatever, and he thought he'd share.  I didn't read anything into it, because there was nothing to assume there was anything more to read into it.  So, Sam did not understand where you were going with that, but she was questioning.  I don't think she said anything that should have been answered with anything other than respect, and I think she was respectful and not attacking as well.  So, OP, you didn't need to get defensive (if that's what that was).  As for others' attack on the OP, I'm at a loss as to where you're coming from.  Why does an assumption of motives appear to be a good idea?

An objective person has to suspend disbelief that the "creative" idea put-forth by the original poster is related to past events (i.e., Minnesota Nice Guys, Minnesota Vikings' Love Boat incident) when this same party is infamous for his tortured bias to a local provider involved in recent police sting by a local municipality.

Now now, that's taking an alias to a new level!

Sam--who has PM'd me about this thread (I hope I'm not divulging something I shouldn't) and I must say she has made her points in ways that make sense to me, even if i don't agree with all of them--did include in her original reply to my OP a couple quotes that I took as "digs" that were attacking.  If the words she used were simply coincidence, then i misread them, and apologize for that.  Otherwise, you're right, i was having a dumb, silly little fantasy in response to some of the posts in the previous post.  in my head, it was much funnier and expansive than what i was able to put down in words.

I just think it is funny that people seem to post stuff without thinking that there may be SEVERAL of us who don't know the background, only see the post and comments, and assume that the people commenting are being extremely petty.  I just don't see the point.  I guess I'm just a lover, not a fighter ;P

... to the tulip themed web site I just heard of. Every name associated with that site is one I respect. The ones I have met I admire without exception. I seriously and strongly want every one of them to remain safe and active. So when I read about a quasi-group initiative I immediately flashed to all the things that could potentially go wrong. In a spasm of paternalistic fervor I thought about sending a bunch emails begging them to be careful. Then I considered the fact that none of them are stupid. Several of them have prior experience with gatherings and have shown creativity and good judgment in the way they structure operations. There is no reason to believe anyone has suddenly been robbed of fifty IQ points nor any cause to start telling them how to live their lives.

So when I read the OP I understood the message, but was puzzled and slightly appalled at the abrasive and contemptuous attitude displayed. I don't know what the motive was. Maybe it was an honest attempt to be light-hearted that just misfired. Maybe something else.

Whatever the case, I doubt I'll ever be able to afford to participate, but I wish this new venture success second and safety first.

Yep--thanks to you as well.  TER is a very small, insular world in ways; i find myself often missing things that to other people on the boards seem obvious.

There are certain posters of this board that will read things into a persons post. Just from how or who they have posted for in the past. Its so childish and petty.  

And I'm a lover too... But I will fight for something I believe in, or if someone is being attacked for no good reason....

something just clicked for me--i wasn't trying to show contempt or be abrasive towards any real individual--if anyone read it that way, that was not what it was.  the contempt would be towards certain social/cultural trends such as types of tv shows . . .
