That's real funny

Mr. HH talking about discretion.

You can't make this shit up!

It would be a cop show, based upon that classic series "Get Smart!", called "Get Fucked!".  (It would have to be on cable--lots of gratuitous nudity and strong, realistic language.)  It would be about a Vice Unit in a town, let's call it Rosetown.  The premiere episode would be when our gritty cops, through exhaustive legwork, discover that there is a prostitution ring, called The Rosetown Roses, operating in their fair city.  It is easy for them to get a judge to sign off on a warrant for cell phone and email records, and then would follow a rapid-cut series of scenes in which a SEX PARTY STING us set up. Before actual arrests are made, lots of nudity and semi-sex is engaged in by the cops and Roses, because the cops are grossly underpaid and deserve a little fun before bringing the party to an end and making arrests.  Of course, a ton of horrible jokes and puns and visuals are de rigor--I imagine lotsof fun could be gotten out of condoms and dildos.
The next episode would be, of course, a legal/courtroom procedural in which deals are cut, charges are dismissed or enhanced, and the Roses expand their territory and rename themselves the Hennepin Hens.
Any takers?

I forgot all about the character of the compromised media type who breaks the story, but is a customer of one of the youngest Roses/Hens.

that would be why someone other than i would have to develop it with the zany humor "Get Smart!" was known for.

It actually sounds like a horrible storyline from "vintage" 1970's pornography (e.g., the Johnny Wadd series of films).

If this message thread is allowed to remain on the discussion board, it will easily qualify as one of the worst for the new year (2013).

An objective person has to suspend disbelief that the "creative" idea put-forth by the original poster is related to past events (i.e., Minnesota Nice Guys, Minnesota Vikings' Love Boat incident) when this same party is infamous for his tortured bias to a local provider involved in recent police sting by a local municipality.

Now now, that's taking an alias to a new level!

(PS--the storyline was intended to be horrible--that is one of the functions of attempted satire)

with wonderful songs by Harry Nilsson, and wonderful acting by character Oublio.  If that doesn't give a clue, then I suppose it's pointless.

Sorry, I thought what you were saying was a riddle because you said if that doesn't give me a clue. Sorry I do not catch the implied meaning related to music/culture that is before my time.

I think your post was made to incite negativity towards a certain group.

Please be kind, we are all human.
Oh and relax it's just sex.

He's still drinking and the ear whisperer is off the meds.

but: Good--a member of the thought police.  Just because you are a concrete thinker doesn't mean there is not equal space for non-concrete thinking.  Simply because you are not aware of a cultural reference does not make it gibberish.  I  too have a college education, and your three points would not, in my educated mind, be indicative of "critical thinking."   They would in my estimation be more of an attempt at character attack and denigration, which always says more about the attacker than the target.  But guess what?  I don't drink or use drugs, and I don't have a mental illness!

I will say I don't appreciate your innuendos and indirectness--it seems to me you are couching an attack in language that is not clear and concise.

If you require a point, generated entirely my own without someone whispering in my ear, it is this:  my OP was an admittedly weak attempt to use humor to raise a question as to the wisdom of some of the posts in the thread directly below this thread.

And finally, we don't have to like everyone to have respect for everyone.

That fictitious scenario in the OP was to insinuate that Poppy and the other Tulips are a risk to see? And you the HH shiller of last year came up with this all by yourself.  This was the best way you could bring your concerns to the board?

I'm calling Bull Shit!

Whoever you are, alias, your call is lost--I'd pass a lie detector test.  As I have posted, and PM'd, in reading that thread, my mind flashed on headlines such as TC TULIPS DEFLOWERED/WILTED, I thought of the MN Nice Guys headlines, and thought to myself, this could be a farce, or a bad TV comedy.

Language is indicative of types/styles of thinking--your use of the word "admitting" somehow casts some aspersion that I had an ulterior motive.  I did not.  I am not resorting to name-calling, as some others seem to choose to do too often on this board.   I was in no way intending to drum up business for anyone, or jeopardize business for anyone else.  (I doubt I have that kind of power.)

I was  trying to have fun, with a somewhat serious point embedded.

Next time just post in the original thread and state your concerns clearly.  Clearly a lot of people did not get what you were talking about.

... to the tulip themed web site I just heard of. Every name associated with that site is one I respect. The ones I have met I admire without exception. I seriously and strongly want every one of them to remain safe and active. So when I read about a quasi-group initiative I immediately flashed to all the things that could potentially go wrong. In a spasm of paternalistic fervor I thought about sending a bunch emails begging them to be careful. Then I considered the fact that none of them are stupid. Several of them have prior experience with gatherings and have shown creativity and good judgment in the way they structure operations. There is no reason to believe anyone has suddenly been robbed of fifty IQ points nor any cause to start telling them how to live their lives.

So when I read the OP I understood the message, but was puzzled and slightly appalled at the abrasive and contemptuous attitude displayed. I don't know what the motive was. Maybe it was an honest attempt to be light-hearted that just misfired. Maybe something else.

Whatever the case, I doubt I'll ever be able to afford to participate, but I wish this new venture success second and safety first.

Unless you have a cork up your ass!!  Just kidding!!

something just clicked for me--i wasn't trying to show contempt or be abrasive towards any real individual--if anyone read it that way, that was not what it was.  the contempt would be towards certain social/cultural trends such as types of tv shows . . .

Melissa's put the fire out, so let's let it stay out!  Thanks.

Poor Richards Almanack to rekindle the flames... Thank You Melissa, always a "First" responder!!!

then do not participate. Respectfully, it is that simple.

Group sex events happen all across the country. Visit any other board and you will see that is the case.

Personally, I would not compare a group of ladies willingly booking parties to The Minnesota Nice guys promoting (pimping) illegal immigrant gals. That is just my opinion, of course.

And the Vikings love boat? That got attention because the Vikings were supposed to be role models who kept their pants up!

xoxo
