I read that law enforcement asked those caught to lead them to known providers. The press conference also indicated that the operation was a multi-step program.

I'm going by what the media has mentioned. A public motel gross misdemeanor is five years in prison and a ten grand fine. But still, guys everywhere go to public Hotels.

Here's the funny part, three guys were carrying guns; I think one was a felon. One guy drew his weapon on the cops. LOL. On one website, they mentioned they got 211 inquiries in two days.

24 "johns" responded to a fake add.  3 of them had weapons. 1 was wanted on a felony charge. Not a bad day for the Bloomington police.  The worst thing about this is that--to my knowledge--none of those arrested were politicians, police officers or clergy.

The prevailing ideology is that all sex workers are victims because there is no way anyone would freely choose to be a sex worker.  So, they want to arrest the providers to help them.

If you are wondering where the logic in these statements is, there isn't any.

Aaaaaaannnnnnddd here is where it could get interesting!  Facing a ridiculous sentence of 5 years in the can on top of becoming a "felon", how many of these guys are singing like canaries and giving up names as fast as they can?  If the cops can corroborate and pic off a number of active gals...think Uncle Leo will do a deep dive into providers databases to search out more johns to threaten with felony charges?  As my grandma used to say, F'ken A right they will...

Local police agencies were probably awarded funding from the Federal Government to curb human trafficking. In order to maintain funding, local agencies probably need to present ROI data to the Federal Government.
This bust aimed for Johns who responded to a legally aged person. Wish law enforcement put more effort going after real human trafficking, carjackers, violent offenders, loiterers, outstanding warrants, and reckless drivers.

My guess is they are trying to find something bigger, like the Thai group that was busted in multi-state federal investigation.  I would love to see the ad they used.  They could easily post and add showing a semi-attractive Asian girl and the phone would start ringing.

But the johns will only be busting providers that agreed to see them - who were also unscreened, of course, which, once again, is why smart people only see ladies who screen. The cops don't screen. Screening is the best protection against something like this.

I'm sorry, but the line that cops won't ask for PII is getting old.  It's been said so many times that mongers should just take it for granted that if they're asked to send a pick of their ID or share soc media links, it's for the good of all involved and most likely above board.

Anna, do you considerate it possible that a monger that has seen providers that screen won't also jump at an opportunity to see pros that don't screen?  How much damning evidence is contained in emails back and forth between the ladies and gents after a successful screening has taken place?

Maybe you are the one that can tell me how the gathered information is completely wiped from providers devices/accounts so there's ZERO chance of it falling into the hands of a third party?

I think that 99% of CLIENTS who have gone to the trouble of sending a provider their personal info and have received a great service in return, will NOT be jumping at the opportunity to see an un-reveiwed pro. Mongers, maybe, but I don't see mongers, so your info is safe with me.

I'm sure these guys were busted before they entered the room, and here's why. The media said around 200 inquiries in two days, so LE had to pick out the easiest. This might work under MN law; in many states, it does. I've seen this often with escorts; they might be doing it because the info is on their site etc., and they want to avoid playing with carrots. They will not quote any rate by inquiries.

LE is very good at getting a potential client by phone, text, or e-mail to clarify that you will get some nookie. Or an idiot will say something like does a couple of franklins get me ABC? Then the cop will say yes, they probably came in and walked by some LE immediately. But when they stepped into the room, you paid and were handcuffed. I wondered how the one guy could start pulling his firearm out. So, one lesson is not to ask. In some states, if you offer money for nookie, it's ten years in prison as a child predator. In MN, they still go back to trying to increase it.

I attempted to send you a PM on this but for some reason it was blocked.  So, 3 questions I have for you;

1.  What process do YOU use that completely removes/destroys all PII from clients once they are vetted and approved?
2.  What steps do "all reputable providers" take to ensure the highest level of security on all of their devices to receive and hold client's PII?
3.  Adults*arch and the Sumo are probably 2 of the most notorious platforms for bait & switch, LE traps, fraud and every other kind of bad behavior that a typical escort "client" would avoid at all cost...yet you advertise on both of them but don't see "mongers"?

I'm going to let you in on a little secret.  If a new, shiny object shows up on in local ads, especially listing competitive or under market rates, your "clients" will quickly become the mongers you hold in contempt.  I enjoy most of your posts and appreciate your presence here but please,  get off the saddle and give the high horse a break for a bit.

I really don't know but I've seen a hell of a lot of talk about public places, felonies etc.  What I do know is how LE operates as well as busted perps scared AF with ONE thought in their minds...how can I get out of this?  The guys with all of their faculties intact will stfu and lawyer up but many others will THINK they see an escape door by fully cooperating.

The trade off of turning against any known ladies, giving up everything you have and getting blackballed from the local hobby scene you were accustomed to as worst case scenario or facing unknown legal consequences and potentially blowing up your life, job and any relationship you may be in.  Not a hard decision for a normal person that just found out what handcuffs feel like...

It's early morning, so I hope this is readable. Remember, there have been prostitution legal seminars before. Local lawyers have been arrested in stings. They will say a few things since it was in a public hotel ( Section 609.324, subd. 2. They will try for a gross misdemeanor if they have had a prior conviction within two years. There is a good chance that most guys in this situation have had one. Often, LE will throw in a text: "oh hey, I'm 15 y.o., is that ok? Usually, that comes at the end; I call that the hook....Felony. Sometimes LE will try Loitering with the Intent to Participate in Prostitution (Public Places) A "loitering with intent" crime often rests upon:
subjective interpretations of others' behavior (prone to bias),
a series of speculations,
to presume the other person's "intent."
The "loitering" term covers the lack of any actual prohibited act or any act.

Police and prosecutors often target disfavored people and classes. Even in this situation, they will try to get the guy to make a statement afterward. This is where the first question comes out, which will be, "Are you married?" Because of your wife, and do you have kids?" He's scared now because of his SO and others finding out...its an advantage for them. He thinks all these people are going to find out...shaming him. But by then, they have already run your info thru the system to find out that; they want you to say it. Another tactic is the non-guilty. They charge you on weak evidence and try to get you to talk. One or two LE is better at integration, but they might switch around on you.
This same tactic is used against everybody, even known escorts, and clients. There have been well-known escorts that have quit because of the continuing contact. It's been a while, but LE discovered her natural life income/investments and tried to use that. There were no arrests or tickets during the initial contact. But make sure if LE does come to your house, you hand them your lawyer's card and tell them to contact them...DONT talk to them or try to talk your way out. Too many people open their mouths...damn
Sentencing Entrapment is applied when police manipulate the defendant to increase the severity level of the crime. Police lead a sting target to a place expecting someone 18 or older. But along the way, they bait-and-switch. Police later tell the target the decoy is under 18 — and the target goes ahead anyway. If the target was guilty of soliciting adult prostitution, he yet maybe not guilty of felony underage prostitution due to sentencing entrapment. If I'm wrong on some of this, feel free to correct i

I'm guessing law enforcement could use the cooperating John as a tool. Since the John is already verified with providers, the cooperating John can easily get through the screening process and collect evidence for the city/county attorney.  This scenario happened years ago to shut down a prostitution ring in Boston if I recall correctly. The cooperating John helped take down an organization to protect his own life.  I'm sure many Johns would do the same if their job/family/name was on the line.

That said, agencies/groups are easy targets whenever law enforcement and government attorneys are hungry. Government agencies aren't going to spend a bunch of taxpayer funds to take down an independent provider.

I always thought that there would have to be an exchange P4P before they could arrest. What is weird is I have a female friend that ran a real therapeutic massage place, no nookie. A guy comes in one day; he's never been to one. He didn't know that you take your clothes off like most therapeutic massage places. So the therapist massaged his glutes, who doesn't like that, lower back, etc., where much of our pain is. He screams that she is trying to touch his dick. He goes over to the cop station, which was like two blocks. They investigated her for prostitution...they sent a cop undercover, and nothing happened. I liked this place so much (best therapists) that I would give massage gift cards as tips.

I spent some time looking into the matter this evening and from what I have found from the 2022 Minnesota statutes and some other reading is the max penalty here would be a year in jail and a $3K fine and probably substantially less for a 1st offense.  Of course, I am no lawyer so I could easily be wrong.

The types that looked like they wanted an easy A

But I agree w some of the posts above.  They most likely took those johns through a specific series of questions before hand

Besides.  The city knows what websites to look at
And usually already have a file on every single provider since day one.

Miss Rain, they are probably 75% of the time; they are what you described. But over the years, there have been a few that I saw that was "higher up," let's say, one guy was even on the news. They showed his face...Aholes media

But here is a more significant issue that concerns even companions around here, and LE mentioned it. I've heard that some companions have yet to talk to a lawyer specializing in this field...there's more than one locally. If A few of these guys tried to contact Xaviera Hollander, it was in their phones or even a text. Or this idiot spills the beans.

So, they might call her and mention Joe Meathead, and Joe told us everything that happened between you guys...what do you say? At that point, she should say, "call my lawyer, Arnie Becker and hang up...nothing will happen. The moral of the story is to put a retainer down or have a CC ready to pay for it when you call, But a pre-attack plan is better.

1. I delete all incriminating evidence and code / protect / hide my contacts as best as possible.
2. I can't speak for other providers.
3. Unfortunately Adults*arch and the Sumo (never heard of that one) and many other sites vacuum up our ads and post them without our knowledge and so we have no control over that, which really sucks.

But you are right, it's hard to resist the bright shiny new object for some guys and asking for screening is not 100% guaranteed.

However I still think it's a lot safer, most of the time.

So, it's quite reasonable to assume when your email gets hacked, all (yes, even the "deleted") the data is there to be harvested by a hacker who's next trick will be reappearing as an extortionist.  I was hoping you had said at minimum, spending the $5=$10/month for a VPN which would dramatically reduce the odds of this happening.

That said, you're the first provider who has actually honestly answered the question that has been asked several times.  Thank you for that.

Jeannie, I think none of us would ever want to be charged 609.322. Most of it concerns Promotion, not just an escort or client. Examples:

 1. An escort is going to an outcall, and she has her escort friend drive her to the outcall...the driver/another escort can be charged with Promotion, more than the escort going on a date. Any driver, another guy, her BF, or her husband.

 2. A traveling escort comes to Minneapolis if she has a client pick her up at the airport to bring her to the hotel ... Promotion.

3. If an escort goes on tour with her SO, he's guilty of Promotion

4. If an escort lives with her SO, BF, husband in a house, etc. If both of their names are on the bills/home, the SO can be charged with Promotion because he's using the money she makes to pay for the home, utilities, etc.

5. Here is why a lot of clients don't think. Let us say she asks a client to drive her to a store or around so she can do some shopping. DONT do that; I know you want to be nice to the escort and help her. In theory, you could be charged with Promotion for helping her.

The penalty for this is 25 years and $50,000 or both. This is what they were trying to do with a local guy client many years ago...before your time? He didn't go to prison because of one thing. It was his medical condition...some of you might remember this case. He was lost on why he did it. But a lot of clients' names were dropped.

609.324 is what most of us would be charged. Engaging or hiring an escort. But if she is underage...say goodbye. If you look at her ID, it says she's 25, for example. But she is underage; that doesn't matter, your toast. You can't use the "I looked at her ID, " which said 25....doesn't matter your toast.

Your last sentence is correct about the penalty for the first time of 324. They still do John school too. But here is something else. If they find any drugs...you might be in trouble. Never bring drugs when with an escort. Especially in a hotel. Because they will find them, I've heard of hotel busts where they tore the room apart and even took the heating/air conditioning apart. They will go thru everything to get that more significant charge

I do remember that case; it was a huge uproar at the time.  LE wanted to bring the hammer down on the ringleader because he used to work as an attorney in the DA's office but he also had a severe physical disability that made putting him in prison not feasible because of the constant care he needed.  He kept thumbing his nose at the DA's office and violating the terms of his parole.  Last I heard they confined him to a some sort of state run medical facility and wouldn't let him have any device that could access the internet.
