Giving out your ID or personal info in this area is as or more dangerious than going bareback with those who have sex with hundereds or thousands. It only takes one rotten apple and everyone is screwed.  I actually believe those asking for ID's have a different kind of mental illness along with those who willingly give it out. Obviously many do or nobody would ask.

...or that tired old mantra of "no reputable provider".  Just bringing this over from the General Board for shits & grins.  Looks like the OP dodged the bullet because he plays old school.  Feel sorry for the other guys once the ex-boyfriend/drug addict gets all he can from the retired pro and turns on all the fellas that gave up their PII just to stick it somewhere warm and cozy for an hour or so...

Damn, definitely dodged a bullet.  Another very good reason to never share personal information.

Everyone know that the providers are at much more risk than clients are.
All encounters are by mutual consent.

If a potential client can't abide by a provider's screening requirements, go elsewhere.
You do not have the right to dictate the terms of a provider's consent.
P411 is does not solve the problem. I would never disclose anything to an agency or screening service.

For 20 years (several names), I have given reputable providers what they ask for and have been a happy camper.

Hobbyists stop whining about this. If you do not like the screening, move on.  The providers know what they need and have decided that they will not miss you if you will not comply with their screening.

Don't PM me. I don't have the ability to receive messages.

Who said anything about dictating terms here??? You make a fair point about it you don't like it move on but damn, you kinda sound like a dick about it...

It's not at all unusual these days for providers to argue that not only is disclosing this sort of information safer for them but also safer for their clients.  This is an example (and far from the only one) of where the latter point is not true.

I learned years ago that ladies keep everything. They say they don't but the minute they need more $$ they email everyone who has ever reached out to them.

I will never email or text my DL. Way too much risk.  There are lots of fish in the sea, so safety first.

I think is is naive to expect anyone to delete such information.  They used it to verify you, and since they aren't going to commit it to memory, keep the verification info for next time, or if asked to be a reference.
.
You have to access the risk level.  It's higher for some than others.
