Recently considering patronizing some providers in Chi-town. I'm a relative newbie and still exceptionally cautious, and thought I'd do a little research to assess risk of LE repercussions before proceeding. What I learned kinda surprised me.
In 2015, there were over 1300 arrests related to prostitution in the City of Chicago according to CoC's online crime database (see link below). While an overwhelming number appear to be for solicitation in a public way, a hefty portion are for running a "Call Operation".
Several of these call operations occurred in areas frequently listed on TER.
My question is two-fold.
===================
1. Have any of the users here witnessed such a bust. If so, I'd like to hear more about what actually transpired before, during, and after the activity.
2. What is an accurate assessment of the risk of LE problems in Chicago while patronizing an independent service provider? I know this begs the question, but I was thinking along these lines...
Suppose that Just 10% of hobbyists are TER members. Then suppose that only 2% of these members' visits are posted reviews. If there were 5,000 reviews posted on TER in Chicago last year, we can assume that 5,000 x (1 / 0.002) or 250,000 transactions took place last year.
By that logic, if a quarter of each arrest last year occurred during visits to a provider, then each visit would carry a 0.13% chance of getting an arrest. Does this sound plausible?
Just curious.

Apologies... I tested the link I had provided and it doesn't filter by crime as a default. Go to the 'Find in Dataset' textbox in the upper right and enter 'prostitution' then hit search to see the numbers.
