What area of Chicago would most of you hobbyists, and ladies recommend to stay?

O'Hare & Mag Mile ( Michigan Ave) areas most popular then the others.

Split your time between O'Hare and city downtown. As far as the city goes, by the football stadium (Soldier Field) could mean different things to different people. There are a number of business hotels along Michigan Ave and there are a couple way east on Wacker drive. There are more parking options north of Roosevelt Road.

What about the Dana hotel?

.....split your time in Downtown and O'hare .......  this is a big metro area.
Good alternatives that might work for you are the OakBrook/Lombard/Downer's Grove area  or Schaumburg.

A good option by Soldier Field is the McCormick Hyatt - easy to get to, park, safe, etc.  Also probably less pricey than some of the loop/Michigan Ave hotels.  As long as there isn't a huge conference when you are in town.
