I think many start out with porn, but one can only take so much virtual stimulation before its time for the real thing. I am curious to hear gentleman, what are your thoughts on this. Please don't give me the obvious statements about it. Go deep and tell me something I don't already know.

What you describe is exactly how it happened for me. I watched a lot of porn, hung around with a big-time porn star for a year and a half and then started checking out Eros ads. I've consumed porn on at least some level since puberty. It definitely spurred my sexual desires and I never had any inclination to pursue the hobby while I was dating and playing the field. I went from porn to chat rooms, which are much more personal and interactive; much better than watching videos. It was still my own hand doing the work though. I think it was something about the secrecy of the video interactions that gave me a middle ground working toward the hobby. It wasn't, I don't think, like one drug leading to another, or drinking more and more. It was something more like I need to get the more personal interaction and if I can do this without getting caught maybe I can do the hobby.

I don't think that watching porn led to my getting into the hobby.  Although, I was first exposed to porn way back in my early teens and I still enjoy watching some porn videos today.

Porn was absolutely the gateway for me into this hobby.
