Usually when I am researching a provider I do a google search on their username to see if I can find anymore posts from different boards, or possibly ads I may have missed.  This helps me get a better idea of what I may be in for, beyond what is available here.

Well I did that recently on a provider that posts here occasionally, and I found a bit more than I was looking for.  Apparently this is not the only forum this provider uses her particular username at, and through a simple search I was able to find her Myspace, Flikr, linkedin and Facebook pages.  This all seemed to be her civy pages, as I found family pics as well as her real name, and the town she lives in.

MY question, is do I let the provider know I found all this, so maybe she can do something about it?  If so, how do I make it look like I wasn't intentionally stalking her?  It seems rather dangerous to be using id's across sites like that.

Tell her privately and every provider and hobbiest should be careful with thier identity on the net.  I should google myself....just in case...

If it was me I'd like to be told.  Poor girl probably has no idea she is exposed like that.

I find it hard to believe that a provider would be that careless. Are you sure you didn't find information on a woman who may happen to have the same real name as the provider's stage name?

In any event, if if you feel certain of what you have found I would tell her. I wouldn't see her however. I would find someone that indiscreet to be far too risky.

There is a face pic on the myspace page that is identical to one on her provider site, and there are other images on both as well.  I am 100% positive it is her

I had the same thing happen when I googled an email address. I decided it would be impossible to tell her about it without coming off creepy and stalkerish.

I ran into something similar, this provider had links to adult personal sites posted on her web site ...

I used the link, put in the city where the provider was from and on that site there was lots of info, images, etc.. including full, clear, facial pictures which were also on her provider site but blurred to protect her identity ...

I sent the provider an e-mail giving her a heads up, informing her of this ... and was insulted, accused of violating her privacy and told basically to never contact her again ...

I actually thought I was being nice by giving her this information ?..
I can't understand that a provider and rightfully so, especially for safety reasons, requires all sorts of information about me .. yet when I do a bit a research back to protect myself .. I'm a jerk !!!

Last thing .. either a provider or someone posing as a provider used my information to attempt to steal my identity .
This person wasn't to savvy though ..  they left a trail all over the internet ... apparently this person doesn't know what an IP number is .. I alerted this persons internet provider .. they tracked the person down in less than a day and told them to stop ... the internet company knows the persons name address etc.  and if I have anymore problems .. I will prosecute...

I do believe most providers are honest .. but not all ... so I think it's smart that you did some research ..

I also think that providers could be very helpful and offer some good insight, if they could commented on your posting ..

I had someone research me in a semi-stalkerish manner but the circumstances were entirely different. After and overnight date in which I failed to remove tags from my luggage - didn't deem it entirely necessary as we had spent a lot of time together and had a  good comfort level.

He subsequently ran a background check and kept alluding to my past addresses, etc in insidious ways in emails.

I have nothing to hide, and am single - so was not particularly worried aside from finding his behavior extremely creepy...not to mention foolish.
After all, his marital status, high profile position etc. should have made him hesitate to even hint at having leverage...

I took the high road and never pointed out the obvious - he had been so boastful of his position and resources that I knew nearly everything about him.

In the end, my muted reaction made him lose interest.
Of course I was never comfortable with seeing him again. His manipulative behavior, though entirely ineffectual, was a huge turn off - to say the least.

Sooo...long answer to a short question.
