Do you DC hobbyist prefer to see provider whom have a person website verses a provider who just advertises on random hobby sites? ..... I do not have a website but it seems in the bigger cities (exclude Chitown) hobbyist have asked if I have one (website).....

I'm just curious... Determines the traffic one may receive when touring....

A "personal" website enable the provider to add "qualities" to herself that a normal ad would not. For example, a BackPage ad is limited in the amount of texts a provider can add. I think it may be 200 characters or so. Or, a Euro's ad is limited in the amount of pictures it can post. The text and pictures are two qualities that are deficient. In addition, you can only post certain pictures on those two types of ads.

However, a personal website allows the provider to introduce herself, her background, and her story. Some provider's personal websites really captures who they are because the texts are not limited. I enjoy reading their backgrounds because it allows me to know her more and build my expectations.

A personal website can also upload many photos. I enjoy seeing a wide variety of photos, especially in different environments such as a nature or inside a building. Personal websites also have features such as updates, calendars, screening methods, proper etiquette's, blogs, and expectations. These days, some providers upload professional and non professional movies or short video clips about themselves. Some are videos are like watching a movie. Some personal websites need passwords to access them if your more discreet than others.

Personal websites for me at least, shows a degree of professionalism and appreciation for the occupation. It's like me feeling naked without my watch, or me not having a cell phone, or me not having an email address in these modern times. I feel somehow deficient and not presentable, like I'm not "competitive" enough.

When I look at a Ero's ad, I do look for a personal website because I want to know her more. I want to know the qualities of the women I'll be meeting. Sometimes, I want to see her wish list in her personal website so I know what to bring. For example, I know that she loves a specific type of chocolate or a specific type of perfume. Yes, a personal website is a determining factor for me to see a provider but the influential factor are her reviews.

In my occupation, or any kind of work that I do that produces a few dollars, I treat it as a professional business approach. It may need different email address, different ways of contacting me, some sort of website to allow the viewers to be better informed, or something of that nature. Especially in these modern times, a provider needs a personal website to stay competitive

I've never visited a provider who advertises on hobby sites, for safety reasons.  I've dated a few girls from BP, but they either had to be 'cleared' through people I know who have visited her or had more than five reviews on TER.

Personal website is best, as it means there has been some investment of time and $$$ into her profession - but along with reviews (three or more).

Again, its a safety and knowing that the provider is putting some effort into her profession and gives an indicator of services.

Thats just me.  I know other hobbyists who are ok with just BP, but they're bargain seekers

Is BP popular in DC?? I haven't been on BP since I started.. Is it safe?  With all the LE stuff happening across the various states?  A nice DC provider suggested Eros .... Lol

I was just saying, if you didn't want to do a website, there is BP and Preferred 411.  They each have their pitfalls, but BP, particularly in Maryland (Montgomery County), wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole.

I already am on p411.... I've only used Ter & P411 (recent)... I've never really advertised much... My reviews have always been "my best" advertising tool.. Lol.  But I've notice as I've ventured into touring that you need to have more such as websites, advertise on other hobby sites as Eros which exposes a lot... Always been very discrete in my line of profession lol... Chicago has spoiled me... Lol

If you create a personal site, make sure you select the template that disables saving of photos as best as possible. Something I'm going through currently- I've had to rove my sites tv. It's a really good idea.. Ya never know! I do think clients appreciate a web site. ;)

not much can be done.. Yes.. you can disable right click option, but nothing stops the perpetrator from taking screenshot of the webpage and cropping your image...

Among other ways I won't mention... But Curly's input is a good eye-opener for most. You have to weigh out the pro's and con's of posting up a website and decide for yourself--not to please others necessarily--if it's the right choice for you. Many clients do appreciate the effort as well as more information about you and your services but the deciding factor is whether or not you want to be "that out there."

Best of luck to you!

I just want to amplify Curly's point - there is absolutely no way to make something available on the Internet and also limit its distribution.

The operative phrase to remember is "the Internet never forgets."

Hi,

Liked the responses thus far.

Websites do allow one to show themselves in a different light.  More personal light if you will....

A website does not capture a persons essence.....ie. smell, kindness, depth, warmth, desire to please, or be pleased, if they are really into wanting to be there and into the fun, and so on.....ect.

The pictures are only one dimensional.  So, theres a lot missing.

From a business stand point, DM said it best....

Very much, is a menu.....limited, though.

Not to mention Curlys response is totally true. Once its out there.....its out there.

There are many many folks I have seen succeed very well without a website.

It's a matter of choice.......weighing the pros and cons.

Take care,

Pn

Create one for the upcoming tour through the east coast...  Is there an application to building your own site... I thought I had heard of one but can't seem to remember... I created a website a long time ago in college but used frontpage format but had to have someone do the HTML coding... Lol ... Does that even exist.. Lol....

I appreciate the feedback...  I still consider myself a newbie.. Haven't hit the 2yr mark yet as a provider... So any advises & feedbacks like this really is appreciated... Knowledge is power!!!

Thank you!!!

You have 6 pages of reviews with no website advertising on TER, FB (be careful) as well as other well known websites in the hobby. Wow! You  have done very well for yourself for you to consider yourself a "newbie." What I will tell you is be careful with FB.

As for the "building your own website" there are a several cookie cutter websites (not sure I'm able to mention on TER) to help you with this. Doing some research on TER and other sites you have advertised on will give you an idea of what websites help you with building your on webpage.

I've only been in the business 5 months but think I can give you a little guidance if you want to PM me. You have WELL over enough reviews to request being on the PO board where the ladies can help you. The newbie board is also helpful with answering a lot of questions such as the one you posed here.

With your upcoming tour to the east coast I bet you next question will be where are the best places to stay in the DC area?

Great advertising!

Wish you luck with the website and again, if you need any assistance or have additional question you can PM me and/or go to the PO board. :)

Smooches!

Jordon even with all my reviews I've only been in this biz a year & a half so I am newbie compared to most who's been doing this career for years.. Lol. But thank you... Ur so sweet!! I've already asked regarding DC & have gotten great advises & suggestions.... I'm excited & nerves about the east coast... The girl whom tour there are mostly "10"s..... But thank u again !!!

shoulders and a humble attitude...

I commend Gemma that she came here to seek advice..

It's nothing wrong with her coming on this particular board to ask questions, but she will get A LOT of help on the PO board where it's not moderated where a lot more info can be given. The reason I was stressing ( and still am) for her to get on the PO board is because she can get a lot more detailed info about getting a website up, as well as other valuable info. Especially with her wanting to tour the east coast the PO board can help a lot with that.

For example, there is a website that providers only can go on to review and rate different hotels. It also provides info on the least expensive and safe hotels to stay in, as well as which are not key card protected. Like I said I've only been in the business for 5 months and just found out about this site a few days ago on the PO board. You can get good advice on the regular boards, IMHO I feel she could much more on the PO board, which is where I got and still get a lot of GREAT advice.

Smoohes

does need to get on the PO board so she can get info in a rather private manner..

I'm already on the PO board .... But I wanted to get the hobbyist perspective... Providers are not why I would create a website.. Website is for the hobbyist so that's why I asked on this board... Also I noticed feeds where hobbyists mentions a lot about providers website etc....

It's very easy to use.....

of course there are the escortsite.com ones too.   Free sites.   They have templates all set up specifically for this industry.   and if you "know nothing" about making a website, that would be a good place to start.

but check out wix.com.   Surprisingly easy.

I wasn't sure if we could actually post the name of the different build your won websites on the boards, but Portia is right with the few she mentioned. Personally, I would be careful using Godaddy. You can purchase your own domain and personalized email address with them. Once you have done that with Godaddy register it with whatever free site you choose. Escortbook.com is another site that is VERY easy to use.

Good luck!

There are a lot of free website building tools, like Google.  They give you a template and you fill it in.  I see a lot of providers using www.slixa.com  Sounds cheesy but use godaddy as your provider, its newbie friendly a fairly 'safe' as far as security.

I'm not a provider, so don't know whats best. Would definitely ask around for help.  That being said, if I were starting out as a provider, I would probably use preferred411 to start and see how business goes and then go from there.  Not in the biz, so its purely an opinion.

If you need any suggestions, PM me. I can also help you out. The templates a lot of the free sites use are very user friendly.

PM me if you would like more info/help. Quick and easy. :D

xoxo

...the DC area is one of the hubs of the internet and there are plenty of folks here that do web work that are damn good at it.  Maybe you could barter some time for one of the gentlemen here to help you get up and running on one of the template sites.  Just a suggestion.  (Don't ask, me, I don't do web work.  :-))
