I'm visiting DC fairly soon and booking my room in advance. If anyone would like to share 4 star and up hotels they recommend, I would really appreciate it :). I'm trying to avoid hotels where you need to have a room key in order to access the elevator.

I will only recommend you the general area. Actual hotel names should never be discussed openly for the sake of security..

Use websites like Hotels.com, Travelocity, Orbitz etc to narrow down the list of hotels that interest you

Then call the actual hotel and inquire if their elevator requires a key or not.

For upscale hotels I prefer to call the hotel directly. . And bite me Curly.
