Walk away

I have a problem that I would like some advice on.  I have been hobbing for many years and have meet many beautiful ladies through ter and a lot of useful advice from this board.
I set up a special evening at a resort and invited two of my atf's to join me and help to celebrate my birthday.  They suggested that I ask a third lady to join us.  I found a some one with multiple reviews and all of them seem to be good.  She also had a datechech id. Her only request was that I give her half the money before.  I did not think that this was unreasonable as there was some travel and we had not met yet.  When the evening came she did not show up or call.  I tried several times to contact her and have send several emails to her to see if we could work this out.  I have never heard from her.
Any suggestions on what to do so that others know or do I just let it go.
Thankyou

I would post again, tell the whole story and reveal her name, If she is going to rip you off, then you have the right to tell everybody who she is and make sure she can't do it again.

If she does contact you and does make amends ( not promise to make amends) but comes thru with the either the money or some other way of paying you back to your satisfaction. Then there is nothing more to this story.

It's your money and she did promise to be there, since she did not show up, you have the right to ask for your money back.
Will you get it back, Odds are you will never see the money again. Lesson learned never to do that again.

Just my 2 cents on the matter.

Unfortunately, that's the best you can do. She will take a hit for a while but then most people will forget, and it's back to business as usual. Consider the money gone and a lesson learned.

I would out her information. The community should know who it is, so we can avoid her...

You could let us know who she is but that would probably be met with denial and more drama than it's worth.
That money is gone. I wouldn't waste a lot of energy trying to retrieve it. You took a chance, it didn't work out so let it go. I hope the other ladies made the trip worth while. Be Safe

....I often ask for deposits, and only once have I had to return one, because of a family emergency.  I always tell my gentlemen friends, via e-mail, that if I have to cancel for any reason, their deposit will be refunded within twenty four hours, via overnight mail.

To the OP, I am so sorry this happened to you.  I don't know you, but you certainly deserve better.

Hugs and Kisses,
Kelly

you are encouraging the behavior by not speaking against it and standing your ground..

Grow a pair... And if you can't you may borrow mine..But only temporarily.

I had a similar situation but it dealt with the identity of the lady.  I posted on the boards my suspisions and other fellow hobbyist flooded the said parties with messages in support of me.

It all worked out where the parties made "things right" and the identity issue was cleared up and the story had an overall happy ending.

Do not just let her walk without backlash even if its just from your fellow Mongers putting her on blast that we see her and others know who she is and that she pulled such a stunt!!

If she doesn't respond to this board I would out her but first I would talk to the 2 girls who recommended her. You sent that money on their recommendation and while I know they are not responsible for this other girls actions, but they should feel some responsibility for what happened to you if they are good providers I would ask for their guidance and tell them you are going to out this girl on the board if you aren't made whole.I would also send a inquiry to date-check explaining to them what happened and  see if there is someway to get her tossed from there for being a scam. Just a thought

That is WRONG. And it is perfectly reasonable to request a deposit but it is wrong when someone runs away with it. Whoever she is she stole from you and she needs to make it right. She should of gotten back to you that night or the very next day to talk to you and tell you something. Maybe give it another day or two and then warn who you wish.

I say to wait just  in case she got locked up or is in the hospital. ;-) But if she did it intentionally she is NOT a good character.

Just as in the case of the lady who was proposed BBFS Greek by a frequent TER poster and she still decided to remain quiet.

Forgiving bad behavior is enabling bad behavior..

Was it with a credit card? If so you may have options. You may be able to file a chargeback, or unauthorized use of your card. Banks usually always side with the customer rather than the CC vendor.

He said in his post that he chose the third provider himself, she wasn't recommended by the other two ladies.

Besides outing her on the board, which falls off the page pretty fast, I'd write a review so others can avoid your experience. That kind of info ought to be available for all to see.  If she ever atones, you can yank the review, but just discussing it here is not enough.

Sorry for your experience.

Cheers,

Miss Marple

He outs her, she blacklists him, sparks fly, both sides accuse each other of lying. The battle goes on for a day or two until everyone get bored with it and moves on with no more answers or facts than we have today. I don't see how that does anything but take up space on the board unless you think she's going to throw herself on the ground and confess? No offense to the OP but we'll never know the whole story here. He said she's a reputable provider with good reviews. Maybe something happened and she cannot respond. Maybe she just decided to trash her reputation and walk away or something in between. We'll never know.
Giving money to anyone is a bad idea. Consider it gone the minute you do. If you take the chance and get burned then learn from it and move on.

if you are ripped-off .  I double checked with TER staff. (They add to include all the details).

My take on NCNS, with no exchange of money, is that you've just been inconvenienced, not ripped-off.

Cheers,

Miss Marple
