If you offer a discount on the last day of your tour, should you rebate your previous clients the next time you visit? (This discount was offered to new and existing clients).

Its the lady's prerogative. She sets her rates, not us.
If I were to guess, she probably had a few cancellations and has to much free time on her hands.
I'd love to help her relieve some of that pent up energy, but alas I'm in recovery from a cold bug.

That being said, why not make your next visit today! I'm sure it'll bring a smile back to your face.

I get that. But when you position yourself as an upscale provider that caters to the elite, it might be best to offer the incentive privately rather than advertising publically. I think we all get frustrated when we, as loyal and faithful customers, see new customers get cheaper rates than us. It makes me feel unappreciated and I will just go see someone else from now on. And to advertise publically just tells me she really doesn't appreciate her loyal client base.

how does she do that privately?  She doesn't.

Question - what happens when the cable company offers a free iPad for signing up for cable?  As a 20 year customer, do you get one?  NO!

give it up and move on.

How loyal are you? Not that loyal, not willing to help her with a nice review?

Oh and I'm betting if you were that loyal you might have taken her up on the offer and seen her again.

Did it ever occur to you she might have not been busy enough to cover her cost? I mean a review helps. Did ya tip her? Im guessing no.

How about I give you some free Cheese with that wine :)

I know, times are tough and $ is tight, you're not alone, I'm sorry it upset you so much you needed to vent here. Not a friendly audience I'm sorry.

Betting you'll call her next time asking for that discount. And if you're nice about it, ya might get it too.

Look, you made an agreement at a price you were comfortable with.

She has some jerk CX last minute, she hasn't covered her trip costs, etc., so she is having a sale.  And your feelings are hurt.  GET OVER IT!

Did you go into Walmart on Nov 1st and say "how about giving ME a discount because you're selling the same Halloween candy I bought yesterday at half price!"  Do you get a refund on your new car when they later drop the price on the end of year sales?

The purpose is to fill unsold time slots, just like last minute deals on cruise ship rooms.  YOU booked early so were gusranteed seeing her, had the choice of times, etc.  Now you want those benis AND the price break?

An she should do it in private?  How does that serve the ADVERTIZING purpose it's intended for?

I have run into this and NEVER tried to get the lower price after I had agreed.  I do think my verbal handshake actually means something.  I will also say I generally have been treated quite well by taking the high ground with the ladies.

Next time, wait until her last day in town and maybe you can get the discount if it means that much too you.  But please don't come on here whining if she is busier next trip and you get shut out.

PS:  Is this the "gripe of the day"?  The same comment was essentially on the general board today.

1) Companies favor new customers. Getting a cell phone plan, a credit card, hell even applying for a job means you'll probably get a salary that's competitive with people who already work there. Repeat business is good for stable predictable income, but it's inevitable that customers won't stick around forever.

2) Hotels will frequently charge lower rates for last-minute bookings when there are too many rooms available. Better to get a few people in at 2/3rds of the normal cost rather than leaving those rooms empty. As someone else pointed out, if she had free time during the end of her visit, better to see a few more fellas instead of just twiddling her thumbs (or whatever).

There are so many ways in which hobbying is unlike any other business, but in this case, it's EXACTLY like the concepts you should be used to. If you want to push for future discounts, at least prepare for the possibility of not seeing her again.

I understand that everyone loves a good deal but some have distorted views of this business. It COST providers significant $$  on the front end to be ABLE to provide. Add in the cost that comes with providing an experience that separates one from the bp girls. This isn't cheap for us but guys want it cheap for themselves?? Totally illogical.... discount rates and services will certainly suffer just because she is having to see more guys rushing etc. To recuperate her upfront investment and also see some profit to maintain her own life.

"  ----  It's not cheap at all especially good advertising ..... *tallies up cost of multiple eros ads right now* ... jesus.

This provider cut her price dramatically. How successful do you think she will be on her return tour at getting her original price?

She may have over priced herself.

She may have missread the DC market (one of the most volitile depending upon Congress being in session, etc.)

She may have advertized on sites that have little to no coverage in DC.

Or she may have had a few guys bail at the last minute, as has been known to happen in DC.

Without knowing the details it's hard to predict.

NO. Once your appointment has taken place it is over, end of story. Some women mid trip will offer special rates for any appointments booked as of that post. Meaning whoever she had set up with prior pays the agreed upon rate.
