Had a nice evening with my girlfriend, watching a movie and drinking wine. Couldn't get around to engaging in 'extra activities' because we both sort of passed out drunk on the couch. Also, too much liquor and nicotine sometimes affects the little man downstairs.

When I got up to get a smoke, I notice everything is white!   Wasn't expecting this at all because the forecast this morning said it was going to rain, never mentioned anything about no snow.

Either way, first snow of the year... people!  Very lovely.

Sucks that official winter-like weather comes a month or two after christmas in this area, but at least this weather helps prevent some of us from hobbying and thus helps staying faithful...

The forecast was an inch of snow with 1/10 inch of ice. Looks pretty accurate to me. Were you drunk?

I've just been enjoying it all day. Haven't gotten the nerve to bundle up and venture out but thats ok too...

yeah, it's really slippery. i almost fell down the stairs from the sheet of ice.

1:00 PM Saturday; I got a notification of that yesterday afternoon prior to 3:00 PM.  It mentioned snow, sleet, freezing rain; that always tells me there is going to be precip with very borderline temps, and any particular location could see any or all of the three.  It may be hard forecasting the weather here, but not hard interpreting the forecasts.  Seems to me they were right on.  If you care you can sign up for weather alerts from a number of sources--the Post, some TV stations, some of the weather sites, some local governments, etc..
