It might just be my bad luck but it seems like everytime I have an appointment in a hotel there's a maid working in the room right across the hall, or no more than one room down the hall!

Does this happen to anyone else?

And so do us gals, although I do hate having housekeeping around when I'm ... Busy lol. I try not to schedule appointments mid afternoon (11-2) to lessen the chances of that awkward hallway dance!

Of course, late morning-early afternoon is when most of my appointments are scheduled, so it should be no surprise that they are readying rooms of people who have already checked out.

...going up to my designated room I'll see housekeeping still cleaning up until as late as 6pm sometimes.
Doesn't bother me though....never had any problems.

I had a conversation with hotel housekeeper roughly three years ago in Chicago on a convention visit. She told me that they're on the clock and have to finish each floor by a given time. They're on the move and don't have time for much else.

Precisely. Check out is usually 11/12, & with check in usually being around 3 the halls are usually full of carts and housekeepers! But hey, these are also the best hours to stealthily jack them for towels and sheets ;) lol. Unguarded carts, YAY!!

Early afternoon appointments aren't impossible, just gotta keep in mind you might see a housekeeper and let the good times roll ;)

are just doing their job, I don't really think they care about what your doing.  Be nice to them and say "Hi".  They will just go about their job....

I always leave reasonable but generous tip along with verbal appreciation for the stressors of their day.  Don't we all want to be recognized?  I do expect to be quieter while they are around..no need to peek their curiosity and attention.

to get 'X' rooms cleaned and ready in a specific time, and are too busy (and not particularly interested) to pay much attention to comings & goings while they're working.  And if the provider has been there before & tipped reasonably well & did nothing to annoy the housekeeping staff they're not going to care a bit what goes on in the rooms.

Yep, housekeeping freaks me out. I tip them well, every day, and hope they understand its hush money lol

On the couch, just inside the door, naked with two naked providers. Maid lets herself in without knocking.
